Hello, friends! Welcome to our special classroom where we have lots of fun learning new things. Today is going to be an exciting day, so let’s get started!
First, let’s do some stretches to wake up our bodies. Stand up tall and reach your arms up high. You can even stand on your tippy toes! Now, bend to one side and then the other. Great job! Stretching helps us feel good and ready to learn.
Professor Squirrel and Nutley are here to teach us about healthy habits. Nutley tried to set a record by doing nothing but eating ice cream. But staying active is important! We should move our bodies every day by playing or dancing.
To stay healthy, we need to eat good foods like fruits and veggies, drink water, and keep our bodies clean. Don’t forget to wash your hands and brush your teeth too!
Let’s listen to a story about a boy who loves to run. Running is fun, especially in the sun! But when it rains, he waits for the sun to come back so he can run again. Running is a great way to stay active and have fun!
We met Miss Heather, a trainer who helps people exercise. She loves playing basketball and staying active. If you want to be a trainer, start by moving your body every day and eating healthy foods.
Let’s have a dance party! Stand up and move your body to the music. Dancing is a fun way to exercise and feel happy. Great moves, everyone!
We learned about force and motion. Force is when you push or pull something to make it move. You can see force and motion when you play with toys or ride a bike. It’s everywhere!
We took a musical field trip to see the Statue of Liberty. She’s a big, strong lady who stands for freedom and friendship. Isn’t she amazing?
Today, we learned how to take care of our bodies by staying active, eating right, and keeping clean. We also discovered how things move with force and motion.
Thanks for joining us today! Remember, the more you learn, the more fun you’ll have. See you next time!
Healthy Habits Chart: Create a weekly chart with your family to track your healthy habits. Each day, draw or place a sticker for every healthy food you eat, every time you wash your hands, and every time you exercise. At the end of the week, count how many healthy choices you made and celebrate your achievements!
Force and Motion Experiment: Gather some small toys like cars or balls. Try pushing them gently and then with more force. Observe how they move differently. Ask yourself, “What happens when I push harder?” and “How does the toy move when I pull it?” Share your discoveries with a friend or family member.
Dance and Move Challenge: Create a fun dance routine with your favorite song. Include different movements like jumping, spinning, and stretching. Perform your dance for your family and ask them to join in. Discuss how dancing makes you feel and why it’s a good way to stay active.
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

Hi everybody! Welcome to the ABC Mouse classroom. The class is just about to start, so let’s go!
Hello everyone, it’s me, Miss Lauren, and we have an exciting Tuesday in store for you! We’ll check in with Ivan, Professor Squirrel, and Nutley to see what they’re all up to. We’ll read a story with Miracle and Nano, and we’re going to get up and exercise to start off.
Let’s do some stretches! Just make sure you have some space around you so you don’t knock over anything. Okay, stand tall with your arms at your side. Now reach your arms up as far as you can. If you want, you can get on your tippy toes. Now, with your arms up, put your palms together and bend to one side, then bend to the other. Do this a few times. Nice and easy stretch!
Did you like that? Yes! Before I walk Pickles, I try to do these morning stretches. Moving my body gives me energy, makes me feel good, and helps my mind get ready to learn. When I just lay around, I’m not as sharp. One lazy morning, I was thinking so slowly that I almost switched my breakfast with Pickles’ breakfast. That would not have been good for Pickles, and I don’t think I would have liked dog food very much! So, for Pickles’ sake and mine, I always try to exercise. It’s a healthy habit that helps our body, mood, and mind.
Now, let’s check in with Professor Squirrel and Nutley to learn more about healthy habits.
What are you doing, Nutley? I’m busy setting a world record! And what record would that be? I’m going on 18 hours of doing absolutely nothing except eating ice cream, which is practically effortless!
Nutley, being active is something everyone should do to stay healthy, no matter your age. Along with eating right, getting plenty of sleep, and keeping your body clean, it’s important to stay active.
To stay active, all you need to do is move! Go out and play, or put on some music and dance. What’s important is that you keep your body moving every day.
Drinking water when you’re thirsty is an excellent choice, Nutley! If you want to stay healthy, it’s also important to eat the right kinds of foods. Foods like fruits and vegetables give your body just what it needs. Healthy meals also include grains like rice and oats, dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese, and proteins like eggs and meats.
Oh no, Nutley, not before you wash your hands! Keeping your hands clean helps you avoid getting sick and spreading germs. It’s also important to take a shower or bath when your body is dirty and to brush your teeth after meals. Healthy teeth mean a healthier you!
If I drink water, eat healthy food, keep my body moving, and make sure that my hands, teeth, and body are clean, then I’ll be a healthier me!
You’re forgetting one very important thing. No, I know! Getting plenty of sleep! That’s right, Nutley. It’s good for your brain and helps you grow nice and big.
Now that I have an entirely new understanding of how to stay healthy, I’m setting my sights on a brand new world record: the world’s healthiest squirrel! Care to join me, Professor?
That’s a great idea, Nutley! Thanks, Professor Squirrel and Nutley! They helped us learn that a habit is something a person does often. We have lots of habits we do each day, like brushing our teeth. Do you brush your teeth every day? Yes! Good! I’m glad to see so many hearts.
Brushing is a healthy habit. A few other healthy habits are eating right, staying active, getting plenty of sleep, and of course, keeping yourself clean.
I have a riddle for you: What is the most important thing that belongs to you and that you are in charge of taking care of? I’ll give you a hint: You can see it in the mirror, and you are the main person in charge of taking care of it. The answer is your body! Your body belongs to you, so make sure you take good care of it.
You probably know by now that I love music! In fact, I use music to find ways to make some of my everyday healthy habits more fun, like singing in the shower or dancing while I sweep the floor.
For today’s story time, Miracle is going to read us a story about a boy who likes to have fun in another way: he likes to run! This story is called “To Run is Fun.”
Let’s check it out!
To run is fun! I like to run, to run is fun all day long. I run, run, run! I like to run out in the sun. When there is sun, it’s fun, fun, fun! I eat a hot dog in a bun, then I go out and run, run, run! If it rains, I do not run. I do not run without the sun. One day, I saw there was no sun. That day, I did not run, run, run. Uh-oh, he can’t run without the sun! I sat all day; it was not fun. It is more fun to run, run, run! I waited for the sun, sun, sun. The sun came out; now I can run! I run so fast! To run is fun!
The end! You can find this book in the ABC Mouse Library. You can listen to it as many times as you like, and you can even make it one of your favorites!
Well, it’s time to run! This was so much fun! I’ll see you soon for the next story time when it’s time to share another story together.
Thanks, Miracle and Nano! I really love rhyming words in books! Did you like seeing the boy enjoying his healthy habit? Yes! He really made it look like fun!
Someone who knows a lot about things like running and exercising is a trainer. Don’t know what a trainer is? That’s okay; you’re about to find out!
It’s time to meet an expert! Yonas, take it away!
Hi there! Thanks for meeting with me today, Miss Heather.
Hi, Yonas! I’m happy to answer all your questions.
Great! My first question is: What do you do?
I’m a physical trainer. I help people exercise.
Oh, I see! Have you always liked exercising?
I have always loved exercising, and I’ve done all different kinds: volleyball, basketball, I run, I lift weights. I like it all!
And what’s your favorite sport to play?
I really like playing basketball. That’s my favorite sport!
That’s really cool! Do you have a favorite team or athlete?
The Lakers are my favorite team, and LeBron is my favorite athlete.
What training do you need to become a trainer?
You do need to go to some schooling so you can learn how to do your job safely.
What advice do you have for a kid like me who wants to become a trainer someday?
Well, first, if you want to become a trainer, you need to start training yourself right now. You should be doing at least 30 minutes of activity every single day and eating really healthy, like lots of fruits and vegetables.
Alright! I definitely learned a lot about what it’s like to be a trainer. Thanks again for answering my questions, Miss Heather!
Yonas, thanks for having me! It was really great to be here!
Bye-bye!
Thanks for that, Yonas! How about you? Would any of you like to be a trainer?
Yes! I think it would be very interesting, and it’s always nice to have a job that helps people.
All this talk about exercise makes me want to move! Good thing, because it’s time for today’s “Move It!” Give yourself plenty of space. Ready? Okay, over to you!
ABC! Hi! Come on, stand up! Time to move it! Let’s go and join the time travel dance party! Ready to dance? Let’s travel back in time! Do the Boogie Woogie! Come on, everybody, let’s do the Twist! Do the Hustle!
Wow! You sure know how to move it! See you next time! Bye-bye for now!
Hi everyone! We’ll see you later, Miss Lauren!
Yesterday, we talked about force: pushing or pulling something to try to make it move. I’ll show you some toys, and you tell me if you push or pull them. Here’s the first picture. What do you think? Push or pull?
These are all toys you have to push! You push a toy car, and when you ride your bicycle, you push down on the pedals to make it move.
How about these toys? Push or pull? To play with these toys, you have to pull, and some toys you can do both!
Now it’s time for Ivan to put some fun in motion! We see force and motion all around us, like on a kickball field. The pitcher uses force to put the ball in motion. The motion of the ball changes when I use force to kick the ball over the outfield fence. I don’t always kick the ball over the fence, but sometimes I do!
Now that you know about force and motion, you’re going to see them everywhere! See how Izzy and I are letting the force of gravity move our scooters down a hill?
Do you think Rascal will catch us?
Ivan’s right! Now that you know about force and motion, you’re going to see them at work everywhere!
You’ve already worked so hard today, so I wanted to surprise you! Well, actually, they wanted to surprise you with another musical field trip just for you!
When people sail into New York Harbor, the very first sight they will see is a proud lady with her torch held high: the great Statue of Liberty!
Frederic Bartholdi was given the chance to design this beautiful present from France, given in friendship by that country to ours. On Liberty Island, she stands under the stars. Inside her are 354 stairs that climb more than 300 feet in the air! Lady Liberty’s feet are so big and strong that the sandals she’s wearing are 25 feet long!
The Statue of Liberty stands proud and tall. She’s a symbol of freedom and friendship to all. She’s watched over us for more than 100 years. To all, she’s a great inspiration and symbol of hope. She welcomes all people in friendship to our great nation.
Today, we learned all about taking care of our bodies with healthy habits. I had a lot of fun with you today! I’ll see you again tomorrow!
Thanks, Miss Mel! As Miss Mel said, we learned a lot about healthy habits today. Professor Squirrel and Nutley showed us that eating right, getting plenty of sleep, keeping our bodies clean, and staying active are super important.
We also found out how things move—not just us, but objects in the world. And you definitely showed us you all know how to move it, whether it was a fun dance or a cool calming moment in the forest.
Thanks for joining us today! After class, check out the activities we put together for you in the playlist. Also, next time you’re playing with a toy, notice how it moves. Are you pushing or pulling it?
Alright, it’s time to say goodbye, but we’ll see you tomorrow! And don’t forget: the more you learn, the more you’ll love learning!
Bye!
