Once upon a time, there was a story about a girl named Goldilocks and her adventure with three bears. This tale teaches us about being curious, respecting others, and what happens when we don’t think about our actions.
In a cozy house in the forest lived three bears: a baby bear, a mama bear, and a papa bear. Each bear had their own things: a small bowl, chair, and bed for baby bear, a medium set for mama bear, and a large set for papa bear.
One day, the bears made porridge for breakfast and went for a walk while it cooled. A curious girl named Goldilocks found their house and went inside because the door was open.
Goldilocks saw the porridge on the table. She tried papa bear’s porridge, but it was too hot. Mama bear’s was too cold. Baby bear’s porridge was just right, so she ate it all up!
After eating, Goldilocks wanted to sit down. Papa bear’s chair was too hard, mama bear’s was too soft, but baby bear’s chair was just right. She sat in it until it broke!
Feeling sleepy, Goldilocks went upstairs to find a bed. Papa bear’s bed was too high at the head, mama bear’s was too high at the foot, but baby bear’s bed was just right. She fell asleep there.
The bears came back home, ready to eat. They saw that someone had been in their house. Papa bear noticed his porridge was tasted, mama bear saw her chair was moved, and baby bear found his chair broken.
The bears went upstairs and saw their beds were disturbed. Baby bear found Goldilocks sleeping in his bed!
Goldilocks woke up, saw the bears, and quickly ran away. The bears watched her leave and never saw her again.
The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears teaches us to respect other people’s things and spaces. It shows that being curious can be fun, but we should always think about how our actions affect others.
Goldilocks’ Choices: Think about the choices Goldilocks made when she tried the porridge, chairs, and beds. Discuss with a friend or family member: What could Goldilocks have done differently to respect the bears’ home? Draw a picture of Goldilocks making a better choice, like leaving a note or asking for permission.
Bear Family Role Play: Pretend you are one of the bears coming home to find things changed. How would you feel? Act out a scene with your classmates or family where you talk about what happened and how you feel. What would you say to Goldilocks if you could talk to her?
Just Right Hunt: Go on a “Just Right” hunt in your home or classroom. Find something that is too big, too small, and just right for you, like a chair or a book. Share your findings with a friend and explain why each item is too big, too small, or just right.
