10 Steps to Wash Your Hands

Let’s learn the 10 steps to wash your hands properly:

  1. Wet your hands with water and apply soap.
  2. Rub your palms together to make bubbles.
  3. Rub the back of each hand with the opposite palm.
  4. Interlock your fingers and scrub in between them.
  5. Rub your cupped fingers with the opposite palm, then switch hands.
  6. Wrap your right thumb with your left hand and rub, then switch.
  7. Rub the tips of your fingers on the opposite palm to clean under your nails.
  8. Rub around each wrist with the opposite hand, then switch.
  9. Rinse the soap off your hands with water.
  10. Dry your hands with a clean towel.

Welcome to this new video on my channel! Today, I’m going to show you how to wash your hands. It may seem easy, but washing our hands frequently is very important to avoid infecting ourselves and others with microorganisms like viruses or bacteria.

You probably already know how to do this, so let’s see if you really do! What is the minimum amount of time you should take to wash your hands to eliminate microorganisms? That’s right! We should wash our hands for at least 30 seconds.

Here comes another challenge: do you know when you should wash your hands?
– When you get home
– Before and after meals
– Before and after cooking
– After using the bathroom
– After touching animals

All of these are correct! But do you know the right way to wash your hands? There are 10 steps. Let’s go through them together.

1. Wet your hands and apply soap.
2. Rub your palms together.
3. Grab the back of your hands with your palms first, starting with the right hand and then the left.
4. Interlock your fingers and rub your hands well.
5. Cup your fingers and rub your cupped palm with the opposite hand, then swap.
6. Enclose your left hand with your right thumb and rub well, then swap.
7. Rub the tips of your fingers over your left palm, then swap. This helps clean away dirt that may be under your fingernails.
8. Rub around your wrists with the opposite hand, then swap.
9. Rinse the soap off your hands.
10. Finally, dry your hands with a clean, dry towel.
