The Easter Mouse Adventure

Once upon a time, there was a cute little mouse who loved Easter. The night before Easter, Mouse was very busy decorating eggs with lots of pretty colors. Can you imagine all the colors he used?

Surprise Eggs Everywhere!

When Mouse woke up on Easter morning, he found a big surprise! There was a yellow egg hiding under his covers. How did it get there? Mouse was very curious!

As he looked around, he found red eggs on the counter and blue eggs under the rocking chair. Wow! Who could have hidden all these eggs?

More Eggs to Find!

Mouse kept searching and found four orange eggs on the sofa. He even found green eggs on the desk. Mouse thought, “These eggs are so beautiful, but who is hiding them everywhere?”

The Mystery Solver

Mouse was a little worried about who was hiding the eggs. But then, he discovered the secret—it was the Easter Bunny! The Easter Bunny was the one hiding all the colorful eggs for Mouse to find. How exciting!

Happy Easter, Mouse!

Mouse was so happy to know it was the Easter Bunny. Now, he could enjoy all the eggs and have a wonderful Easter. And that’s the end of our story!

Thank you for joining us for story time. We hope you had fun! Remember, you can always come back for more stories and adventures. Happy Easter!

  • What colors would you use to decorate your own Easter eggs, and why do you like those colors?
  • Have you ever found something surprising in a place you didn’t expect, like Mouse did with the eggs? What was it, and how did it make you feel?
  • If you were the Easter Bunny, where would you hide eggs for someone else to find? Why would you choose those places?
  1. Color Hunt: Let’s go on a color hunt just like the little mouse! Look around your home or classroom and find objects that match the colors of the eggs in the story: yellow, red, blue, orange, and green. Can you find something for each color? Share your discoveries with a friend or family member and talk about where you found them.

  2. Egg Decorating: Just like the mouse, you can decorate your own paper eggs! Use crayons, markers, or paint to color your eggs with the same colors from the story. Try to create patterns or designs. Once you’re done, you can hide them around your room and have a mini egg hunt with your friends or family.

  3. Story Time Detective: Imagine you are a detective like the mouse. Think about why the Easter Bunny might hide eggs. What do you think the Easter Bunny wants to share with the mouse and you? Discuss with a friend or family member what surprises or fun things you might find if you were on an Easter egg hunt.

I have a question—what’s going on with your mustache? It looks like it’s falling off your face!

Nope, it’s a real mustache! This brings me to today’s book, which is “The Easter Mouse” by Lauren Umarov and Felicia Bond. Let’s get started!

Happy Easter, Mouse! The night before Easter, Mouse decorates some eggs. When he wakes up on Easter morning, he finds a yellow egg under his covers. Who put these red eggs on the counter? Who’s hiding all these eggs? It’s a classic tale of someone breaking into the house and hiding a bunch of decorated eggs. It’s a real whodunit!

Mouse spies a few blue eggs under the rocking chair and four orange eggs on the sofa. Who is hiding these eggs? These eggs are beautiful, but someone broke into the house and hid them everywhere. This is a bit scary!

Come on, there’s so much tape holding that mustache on!

No, this is my classic look!

Mouse loves the green eggs he finds on the desk. Green eggs? This is getting serious; we need to find out who did it!

Look at your face, man! There’s so much tape holding that mustache on!

I don’t know what you’re talking about.

He looks around—who’s hiding all these eggs?

Oh, it’s the Easter Bunny!

Oh good, I’m glad he came clean and said who it was. At least nobody’s hiding anything anymore.

Okay, Craig, I have to come clean too. I put one piece of blue tape on my face.

You look like a tape monster!

And it’s all because you’re holding a fake mustache!

This is a real mustache! If it were fake, I would have shaved it off.

I knew it!
