Welcome to the New Year!

It’s time to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the New Year with a big smile! Let’s celebrate together and have lots of fun.

Counting Down to the New Year

Let’s count down together: Five, four, three, two, one… Happy New Year! It’s a special time when we can make new wishes and have new adventures.

Happy New Year, everyone! Let’s make it the best year ever!

  • What is something new you would like to try or learn in the New Year, and why does it excite you?
  • If you could make a special wish for someone in your family, who would it be for and what would you wish for them?
  • Can you think of a fun way to celebrate the New Year with your family or friends? What would you do to make it special?
  1. Wish Tree Craft: Create a “Wish Tree” with your family. Use a small branch or draw a tree on a large piece of paper. Cut out leaf shapes from colored paper. On each leaf, write or draw a wish you have for the New Year. Hang or stick the leaves onto your tree. Share your wishes with your family and talk about how you can help each other make them come true.

  2. Countdown Clock: Make your own countdown clock using a paper plate and some craft supplies. Draw numbers around the edge of the plate like a clock. Use a brad to attach two paper arrows as clock hands. Practice counting down from 10 to 1, moving the hands as you go. Think about what you would like to do when the clock strikes “New Year” and share it with a friend or family member.

  3. New Year Adventure Journal: Start a New Year Adventure Journal. Each week, draw or write about something new you learned or an adventure you had. It could be trying a new food, visiting a new place, or making a new friend. At the end of the year, look back at all the exciting things you did and learned!
