The Magical Adventure of Cory and Friends

Once upon a time, Cory and his friends were at a magical show. They were super excited because the magician, Hoodini, had so many amazing tricks up his sleeve!

The Mysterious Coin Trick

Hoodini asked for a volunteer, and a brave little girl stepped up. He asked her if she had any money, and when she said no, he magically pulled a coin from behind her ear! Everyone was amazed. But then, the coin disappeared! Where could it have gone?

They searched everywhere, even checking the volunteer, but no coin was found. Suddenly, someone spotted the coin high up in the air! It was so magical!

Frannie the Detective

Frannie, one of Cory’s friends, wasn’t convinced it was real magic. She decided to show everyone that these were just tricks. She revealed that Hoodini’s hat had a secret compartment and that his flashy clothes could hide flowers. She even found out that Hoodini had hidden coins under his mustache!

The Final Trick

Just when everyone thought they had figured out all of Hoodini’s tricks, he had one last surprise. He asked for help from the audience to count down. Suddenly, Frannie disappeared! Everyone was shocked and wondered how it happened.

When Frannie reappeared, she was holding a special horn, and everyone cheered. Hoodini smiled and said, “A magician never reveals his secrets.”

The Magic of Believing

In the end, Cory and his friends learned that magic is all about believing and having fun. Even if it’s just a trick, the wonder and excitement make it magical!

And who knows, maybe one day you’ll learn some magic tricks too! Wouldn’t that be amazing?

  • What was your favorite part of the magical adventure with Cory and his friends, and why did you like it the most?
  • Have you ever seen a magic trick before? What did you think about it, and did it make you feel amazed like Cory and his friends?
  • If you could perform a magic trick, what would it be, and who would you like to show it to? Why do you think they would enjoy it?
  1. Magic Coin Hunt: Try to recreate Hoodini’s coin trick at home! Ask an adult to help you hide a coin somewhere in the room. Then, with your eyes closed, see if you can find it using clues they give you. Once you find the coin, think about how Hoodini might have hidden it during his show. Can you come up with your own magic trick using the coin?

  2. Detective Frannie’s Challenge: Just like Frannie, become a detective and try to find hidden objects around your house. Ask someone to hide a small object, like a toy or a pencil, and then give you hints to find it. After you find it, think about how magicians use hidden compartments or clever disguises to make things disappear and reappear. Can you create a simple trick using these ideas?

  3. Magic of Believing: Think about a time when you believed in something magical or exciting. Draw a picture of that moment and share it with your friends or family. Discuss how believing in magic or fun stories makes them more enjoyable. How does believing in something make it feel more real and exciting?

He’s got a million tricks up his sleeve, Cory. – Cory? – So magical! – Cory! – Forget him, Halle! We lost Cory too. What are you hiding under that mustache? I’ll need a volunteer for my next trick! – I’ll be your volunteer. – Fabulous, little miss! Now tell me, do you have any money on you? – Are you robbing me? – It’s all right if you don’t, because I think I see a coin right here! Whoa! Now keep your eye on this coin because coins have a strange habit of disappearing—Oh! It disappeared. Hurry! Check our volunteer for the coin! Ah. Hmmm. I don’t see the coin! I found a credit card, guys! Hmm. Perhaps if I take a look. Hmmm. I don’t see anything either. Perhaps we’re not looking “high” enough? Huh? Guys! Look! The coin! It’s here! Wow! – Whoa! – So cool! Halle, listen to me. Put the coin down. I know it seems magical, but trust me… Halle… Halle, don’t give in! I’m sorry, Frannie… I’ve just–I just gotta believe in magic! Halle! – That was incredible! – Why, thank you! Show us another one! Show us another one! Hmm. Hmph! – For my next trick— – Hold it! Hold everything! Frannie? What’s going on? Every trick you’ve seen here today has been nothing more than that, a trick! And I’m going to prove it to everyone. I’m going to save you guys. What? Exhibit A, Harry Hoodini’s Hat. She’s got my hat! Just a perfectly normal hat? Wrong! If you press it in just the right spot… Ha! A secret compartment! – What? Why? – Exhibit B: Hoodini himself! These flashy fenders are just the right size to hide… two sets of bouquets! And watch, anyone can do this trick. One stem becomes… a whole flower! But Frannie, what about the coin? I’m glad you asked, Halle. It’s simple, really. Check out what I’ve hidden under everyone’s tires. Multiple coins! That’s right! Hoodini had three coins! As for where he hid them… right under his mustache! Huh? What? Where did he go? Hoodini! Where is that magician? Come out! The lights again! Ms. Motors? Don’t look at me. So, you’ve solved all my tricks. If those were all my tricks! Give it a rest, Hoodini! The show is over! I have one final trick to perform. But I’ll need some help. All right, Harry, I’ll bite. But your tricks won’t work on me. Keep your eyes on my assistant and help me count down. – Three, two, one… – Three, two, one… Abra-car-dabra, Ala-car-zoom! – Where did she go? – What? Anyone see her? Frannie! What’s going on? Frannie! – Frannie! Frannie! – Frannie! – How did you do it? Where did she go? A magician never reveals his secrets. What was that noise? – Frannie! – Where did you go? – How did he do it? – Wait! Is that… your limited edition Honkin’ Henry Honkin’ Horn? Frannie? That. Was. Amazing! Do you do birthday parties? That last trick was something else! Why thank you, little miss! How do you guys think he did it? The power of magic, Cory. The power of magic. Hm.
