Welcome to a fun and creative drawing adventure! Today, we are going to draw a cute baby dinosaur hatching from an egg. Get your crayons and paper ready, and let’s have some fun!
Before we start, make sure you have these materials:
Let’s begin by drawing a big letter “U” at the bottom of your paper. This will be the shape of the egg. Then, draw a zigzag line across the top to show where the egg is cracked open.
Now, let’s draw the dinosaur’s mouth. Make a “V” shape that goes down and back up to form the jaw. Inside the mouth, add lots of sharp teeth on both sides.
To draw the dinosaur’s body, start from the bottom of the egg and make a curve that goes out and then back to the egg. Do this on both sides to give the dinosaur a nice round shape.
Draw a circle for the eye and color it in. You can also add little dots for nostrils to give your dinosaur more character. Make sure to place them just right!
To make your dinosaur look cool, draw small zigzag shapes along its head and body to show spikes.
Next, let’s draw the dinosaur’s fingers as it climbs out of the egg. Use the letter “W” to create the fingers, going down and back up, and do this on both sides.
Now that your drawing is done, it’s time to color! Pick your favorite colors for the dinosaur and the egg. Make it as colorful as you like!
Once you’re done coloring, take a moment to admire your masterpiece. Every dinosaur will look a little different, and that’s what makes it special. We hope you had a great time drawing and bringing your baby dinosaur to life. Happy drawing!
Egg Observation Activity: Find a real egg at home (with the help of an adult) and observe its shape and texture. Discuss with your friends or family how the egg’s shape is similar to the one you drew. What do you think is inside a real egg? How is it different from your dinosaur egg?
Dinosaur Story Time: Imagine a story about your baby dinosaur. Where is it going after it hatches? What adventures will it have? Share your story with your classmates or family. You can even draw more pictures to go along with your story!
Color Exploration: Go on a color hunt around your house or classroom. Can you find objects that match the colors you used for your dinosaur? Make a list or draw pictures of the items you find. How many different shades of each color can you discover?
