Drawing is a fun activity, especially when you do it with friends. Today, we are going to learn how to draw a cute Christmas red panda. So, grab your markers and paper, and let’s start drawing!
Let’s begin by drawing the red panda’s nose. Find the middle of your paper, a little bit towards the top, and draw an oval shape. Color it in to make it look nice.
Next, we will draw the mouth. Draw a curved “W” shape just below the nose. Then, add a “U” shape under it to show an open mouth. You can also draw a tongue inside. Color the top part of the mouth, but leave the tongue white.
Now, let’s draw the eyes. Make two circles, one on each side of the nose. Inside each eye, draw a smaller circle in the top left corner. Color the big circles, but leave the small circles white to make the eyes look friendly.
To make the top of the red panda’s head, draw an upside-down “U” shape. It will look like a big rainbow line.
For the fluffy cheeks, draw a sideways “W” shape on each side of the face. Make it curvy to show the fluffiness.
Draw the chin by curving a line under the mouth and connecting it to both sides of the face.
Next, draw the ears by making diagonal lines that curve out from the top of the head. Finish the ears by curving back down. Inside each ear, draw a smaller upside-down “V” shape.
To make it festive, draw the fluffy part of the Christmas hat between the ears. Add a pom-pom on one side and draw the top of the hat curving over the head. Make sure to add a fold to make it look real.
For the body, draw a diagonal “U” shape starting from under the chin. Do the same on the other side, flipping it to match.
Put the present between the arms. Start with the top of the present and draw the sides coming down. Connect the sides at the bottom and add a ribbon in the middle. You can decorate the present with patterns, stripes, or polka dots.
Draw the legs sticking out to the sides as if the panda is sitting down. Use oval shapes tipped diagonally for the feet. Connect the feet to the present and add smaller ovals inside for the bottoms of the feet.
Finally, add a short tail that looks like an upside-down “U” shape.
Now that your red panda is drawn, it’s time to color! Use light red and orange markers for the main body, leaving the middle of the face and stripes white. Add details like white eyebrows and a curvy line connecting the eyes and chin.
Once you finish coloring, you can add extra things like snowflakes, more presents, or even a Christmas tree in the background to make your drawing even better.
Great job! You’ve drawn a festive Christmas red panda. Remember, the most important part of drawing is to have fun and be creative. Enjoy your artwork, and happy holidays!
Red Panda Observation Walk: Take a walk in your neighborhood or a nearby park and look for animals or objects that remind you of the shapes used in drawing the red panda. Can you find something that looks like an oval, a “W” shape, or a “U” shape? Draw or describe what you see and how it relates to the shapes you used in your red panda drawing.
Create Your Own Animal Drawing: Using the steps you learned to draw the red panda, try creating your own animal drawing. Choose a different animal, like a cat or a dog, and use similar shapes to draw it. Think about what shapes make up the animal’s face and body, and add your own creative touches, like a hat or a present, to make it festive!
Story Time with Your Drawing: Write a short story about your Christmas red panda. Where is it going with its present? Who is it giving the present to? What adventures does it have along the way? Share your story with a friend or family member and show them your drawing to bring your story to life!
