Drawing is super fun, and today we’re going to learn how to draw a special plant called a four-leaf clover! Get your crayons and paper ready, and let’s start our art adventure.
Take your dark green crayon and draw a small plus sign (+) right in the middle of your paper. This will help us know where to put the leaves.
Now, draw an “X” over the plus sign. For the first leaf, start at the end of one line of the “X” and draw a big heart shape. Make a bump going up and then another bump to finish the heart. Yay, your first leaf is done!
Turn your paper a little bit and draw another heart shape for the second leaf. Start where the first leaf ended and make two bumps again. Great job!
Flip your paper upside down and draw the third leaf just like the others. Start with a bump and follow the heart shape. You’re doing amazing!
Turn your paper back to how it was at the start and draw the last leaf. Make a small bump in the center and finish the heart shape. Now you have four leaves!
Let’s add a stem! Draw a curved line coming down from the bottom of the clover. You can make it thick or thin and even add a little curl at the end if you want.
Use your light green crayon to color in the leaves and stem. Take your time and make it look nice and green!
To make your clover extra fun, let’s give it a face! Draw a circle on one leaf for an eye, and another circle on a different leaf. Add a smiley mouth and maybe some pink cheeks. You can even add a tongue or other funny features!
Be creative! You can change the face, add a mustache, or draw a leprechaun hat. You can even draw more clovers or a cool background.
Hooray! You’ve made a funny four-leaf clover. We hope you had lots of fun drawing and coloring. Remember, the best part of art is making it your own. Happy drawing, and see you next time!
Leaf Hunt: Go on a nature walk with a grown-up and look for different types of leaves. Can you find any leaves that look like the ones you drew? Collect a few different leaves and bring them back home. Try to draw them using your crayons. How are they similar or different from your four-leaf clover?
Color Mixing Fun: Use your crayons to experiment with mixing colors. Try coloring one leaf with light green and another with dark green. What happens if you mix the two colors together? Can you create a new shade of green? Use this new color to add some extra details to your clover or draw another plant.
Story Time: Imagine your four-leaf clover is magical. What kind of adventures does it go on? Write a short story or draw a picture about your clover’s adventure. Share your story with a friend or family member and ask them what they think might happen next!
