Drawing a Heart with Wings for Mother’s Day

Let’s have some fun and learn how to draw a heart with wings! This is a perfect gift for Mother’s Day. Grab your marker, paper, and coloring supplies, and let’s get started!

Step 1: Outline the Heart

First, draw a big curve in the middle of your paper. It should look like a rainbow. This is the top of your heart. Then, draw a line that wraps around the heart like a banner.

At the bottom, make a pointy “V” shape. This is the bottom of your heart. You can make it as wide or narrow as you like.

Step 2: Complete the Heart Shape

Now, draw another curve above the pointy part to match it. Imagine a line going up behind the banner, curving around, and coming back down in the middle before curving over to the other side. It’s okay if one side is bigger than the other. Just have fun practicing!

Step 3: Add the Banner Details

Let’s finish the banner. Draw a curve that comes back in on both sides of the heart. Color in the left and right parts of the banner to make it look cool.

If you need more time, you can pause and take a break!

Step 4: Draw the Ends of the Banner

For the ends of the banner, draw an “S” shape that goes up and then back down on both sides. Then, draw another curve that matches the bottom of the first curve. Connect the top and bottom lines with a sideways “V” shape on both sides.

Step 5: Create the Wings

Now, let’s draw the wings! Start with the right wing by drawing a curve that comes out from the top of the heart. Then, add a zigzag line that comes back down into the heart.

Do the same thing for the left wing, making sure the curves and zigzags look the same on both sides.

Step 6: Add Feathers to the Wings

To make the wings look even cooler, draw longer feathers. Start with a curve going out and then a bigger curve coming back down. Keep doing this, making the feathers smaller as you get closer to the heart.

Step 7: Write “Mom” on the Banner

Let’s make it special by writing “Mom” on the banner. Start by drawing the letter “O” in the center. Then, draw a big “M” on the left side and a smaller “M” inside it. Do the same on the right side.

Step 8: Color Your Drawing

Yay! You’ve finished drawing your heart with wings. Now, it’s time to add some color. You can use your favorite colors to make it look beautiful.

Final Touches

After coloring, you can add some shiny highlights to the heart and some shading to make it look three-dimensional.

We hope you enjoyed this drawing lesson. Give your artwork to your mom, and she’s sure to love it! Happy drawing!

  • What colors would you choose to make your heart with wings special for your mom, and why do you think she would like those colors?
  • Can you think of other things you could draw or make to show someone you care about them? What would you create and for whom?
  • Have you ever given someone a handmade gift before? How did it make you feel, and how did the person react?
  1. Heart Hunt: Go on a heart hunt around your home or classroom! Look for objects that are shaped like a heart. Can you find at least three items? Draw them in your notebook and share with your friends what you found. This will help you see how hearts can be found in everyday life!

  2. Winged Creations: Use craft materials like paper, feathers, and markers to create your own set of wings. Think about the shapes and patterns you used in your drawing. Can you make the wings look similar to the ones you drew? Once you’re done, show your wings to a friend and explain how you made them.

  3. Question Time: Why do you think wings are often added to hearts in drawings? Discuss with your classmates or family. Think about what wings and hearts might represent and how they make the drawing special for Mother’s Day.
