Drawing is super fun, and today we’re going to learn how to draw a horse emoji! Get your markers, paper, and coloring supplies ready, and let’s start our art adventure.
First, let’s draw the horse’s eye right in the middle of your paper. Make a big circle for the eye, and then add a smaller circle inside it at the top right corner. Color the big circle, but leave the small one white. This makes the eye look shiny!
Above the eye, draw an upside-down “V” shape. This will be part of the horse’s hair. Next, draw a small curve on the right side and another line that curves back up to make the ear. Now, draw a curve going up from the hairline and then back down to finish the ear. Inside the ear, draw another line coming down.
To make the mane, start with a curve halfway up the ear that goes out and down. Then, draw another upside-down “V” close to the first line. Connect these lines with a smaller “V” in between.
For the other ear, draw another upside-down “V” shape, curving it up and then down. Add the outer line of this ear next to it, and then draw the inner line.
Now, let’s draw the head. Start with a diagonal line from the end of the hair, curving it down to make the nose. Extend this line a bit more, then make a big curve for the cheek. Draw a diagonal line down to finish the cheek shape. Next, draw a short neck coming down from the head.
To finish the mane, draw a curve starting near the ear that goes toward the cheek, adding zigzags and curves. Then, draw a “U” shape that curves up and connects to the mane to outline the neck.
For the outer line of the mane, start higher on the ear and draw a series of curves and zigzags that connect back to the inside line of the mane.
Don’t forget the nostril! Draw a backwards “6” shape, then add a line at the top to complete the nostril.
Now that we’ve finished the drawing, it’s time to color! Use markers to fill in the horse. For shading, use a light gray marker, and for highlights, a white colored pencil works well under the face and eye. If the hair color is too dark, you can lighten it by layering a light brown marker over the dark brown.
Yay! You’ve drawn a horse emoji! We hope you had a great time drawing and coloring your horse. Try drawing other fun things, like a unicorn emoji, for more creative fun. Happy drawing!
Horse Emoji Observation Walk: Take a walk around your neighborhood or a nearby park with your family. Look for things that remind you of the horse emoji you drew. Can you find shapes that look like the horse’s mane or ears? Maybe you’ll see a cloud shaped like a horse! Draw or take pictures of what you find and share them with your class.
Emoji Story Time: Create a short story about your horse emoji. What adventures does your horse go on? Does it meet other emoji animals? Draw a picture for each part of your story. Share your story and drawings with a friend or family member. This will help you think about how to use your drawings to tell a story.
Color Mixing Experiment: Use your coloring supplies to explore how different colors can change the look of your horse emoji. Try mixing two colors together to see what new colors you can create. For example, what happens when you mix blue and yellow? Use these new colors to add unique details to your horse emoji, like a rainbow mane!
