How to Draw a Knight in Shining Armor

Today, we’re going to learn how to draw a cool knight in shining armor! Grab your markers and paper, and let’s have some fun drawing together!

Step 1: Drawing the Helmet

Start by drawing a big circle in the middle of your paper. This will be the knight’s helmet. Under the circle, draw a curved line to make the mask that covers the knight’s face.

Adding Eye Slots

Inside the mask, draw two lines going down to make the first eye slot. Connect the top and bottom of this slot. Do this again to make two more slots on each side. Make sure they are all the same size!

Earpieces and Decorations

Draw two lines coming out from the left side of the helmet and connect them at the bottom to make the earpiece. Do the same on the right side. For some extra fun, draw two lines from the top of the helmet and connect them with a bumpy line to look like feathers.

Step 2: Drawing the Shield

Below the helmet, draw a line going to the right to make the top of the shield. From the middle of this line, draw a line down to a point at the bottom. Connect the sides with curves to finish the shield shape.

Adding Designs

You can make the shield special by adding designs. Try drawing diagonal lines or symbols like a lion or an eagle!

Step 3: Drawing the Body Armor

Draw a line from the bottom of the helmet down to the shield. On the left side, draw another line down to make the body armor. Connect the bottom of the armor to the shield.

Step 4: Drawing the Pants and Boots

For the pants, draw short lines going down and connect them across. Then, draw two lines for each leg and a line at the bottom for the boots.

Detailing the Boots

Draw a curve on each side for the top of the boots, and another curve for the bottom to make them pointy.

Step 5: Adding Shoulder Armor and Arms

Draw a curve from the right side of the body armor to the shield, and do the same on the left side. For the knight’s fist, draw a closed hand holding a jousting stick.

Drawing the Jousting Stick

Draw a horizontal line for the handle, then two diagonal lines going up to make the top. Connect these lines to make a point at the top. Draw two more lines down from the fist to finish the handle.

Step 6: Finalizing the Arm and Neck

Connect the shoulder armor to the arm with a curve for the top and bottom of the arm. Add a U-shaped neckline for the collar of the armor.

Step 7: Coloring Your Knight

Now that your knight is all drawn, it’s time to add some color! Use your favorite colors to make your knight look amazing!

Step 8: Adding a Background

Think about adding a background to your drawing. You could draw a horse, a dragon, or even a castle to make your scene exciting!

Conclusion

Great job on drawing your knight in shining armor! Remember, it’s okay if your drawing looks different. The most important thing is to have fun and keep practicing your drawing skills. Enjoy your artistic journey!

  • What do you think makes a knight’s armor special or interesting? Can you think of any other things that people wear to protect themselves?
  • If you could design your own shield, what symbols or designs would you put on it and why? How do these designs represent you or things you like?
  • Imagine your knight is going on an adventure. Where would they go, and what kind of exciting things might they see or do? Can you think of a story about their journey?
  1. Design Your Own Shield: Create a unique shield design using paper and crayons or markers. Think about what symbols or patterns you would like to represent you as a knight. Once you’ve drawn your design, cut out the shield shape and decorate it with your chosen colors and symbols. Share your shield with your family and explain what each part of your design means to you.

  2. Armor Observation Walk: Take a walk around your home or school and look for objects that remind you of the knight’s armor. Can you find anything that is shiny like the helmet or strong like the shield? Draw or write down what you find and think about how these objects are similar to the armor you learned to draw.

  3. Story Time Adventure: Imagine a day in the life of your knight. Write a short story or draw a comic strip about an adventure your knight might go on. What challenges do they face? Who do they meet? Use your imagination to create an exciting tale, and share it with your classmates or family.
