First, take your paper and fold it in half. Match the top edge with the bottom edge and press down in the middle to make a crease. Then, flip the paper over and fold it the same way again. Unfold the last fold and flatten your paper out.
Put some scratch paper under your drawing paper to protect your table from marker marks. Turn your paper so it’s standing tall like a building. This will make it easier to draw.
Let’s start by drawing a big rectangle in the middle of the paper. This will be the body of the Nintendo Switch. Draw a straight line down on the left side of the fold, then do the same on the right side. Make sure both lines are the same length. Connect the tops and bottoms of these lines to finish the rectangle.
Now, let’s draw the joy-cons, which are the controllers on the sides. On the left side, draw a short line at the top and bottom, then curve out to the left and down to make the joy-con shape. Do the same on the right side for the other joy-con.
Time to add some buttons! Draw a circle at the top of the left joy-con, then another circle in the middle of the right joy-con. Add smaller circles for the directional pad and buttons like X, Y, B, and A. Don’t forget the home and plus buttons!
Let’s draw the screen now. On the right side of the fold, draw a vertical line down to match the space above. Do the same on the left side of the fold. Connect the top and bottom of the screen on both sides.
Your drawing is almost done! Now, you can color it. You can make the joy-cons blue and red or choose a classic gray. Add your favorite video game characters or scenes on the screen, like Mario or Animal Crossing friends.
Before you start coloring, add the left and right buttons by drawing short lines on both sides of the joy-cons. Connect these lines to the joy-con shapes.
