Drawing is a super fun way to be creative! Today, we’re going to learn how to draw a silly and fun crawfish creature. So, grab your drawing tools, and let’s get started!
Before we start, make sure you have these supplies:
1. Draw an upside-down “V” shape in the middle of your paper, a little above the center.
2. Extend each side of the “V” down a bit and curve them inward.
3. Make a curve that goes up, then down, and connects to the other side to finish the body.
1. Draw a “U” shape coming down from the body to make the tail.
2. Add details by drawing curves on the tail. Start with a curve at the top, then add another below it, and finish with a straight line.
3. Keep adding curves to make the tail look three-dimensional.
1. Draw a small “U” shape that curves out and back in at the bottom of the tail.
2. Make a bigger “U” shape that goes out further and connects back to the smaller one.
3. Do the same on the other side to keep it balanced.
1. For the eyes, draw a small “C” for the left eye and a backward “C” for the right eye.
2. Color in the eyes, leaving a tiny spot white to make them look shiny.
1. Start below the left eye and draw a diagonal line going up.
2. Curve down a little, then curve out to the left and connect it to the top of the body.
3. Draw another line like a backward “P” shape, connecting back to the body.
4. Repeat these steps on the right side for the second claw.
1. For the right pincher, draw a big curve going up high, then another curve that flares out and connects back down.
2. Do the same for the left pincher, making sure it matches the right side.
1. Start at the bottom of the body and draw a line that curves out and back in to make the first leg.
2. Add smaller parts to each leg, making them thinner as they connect back to the body.
3. Keep adding legs until you have four on each side.
1. Draw a long line coming out from the top of the head to make the first antenna.
2. Add a second antenna on the other side, making them a bit thicker by flaring them out.
3. Add small spikes between the two antennas for extra detail.
1. Decorate the claws with zigzag patterns to give them texture.
2. Add ridges along the legs and body to make them look more real.
Now that your drawing is done, it’s time to add color! You can use markers or any coloring tools you have. Try using:
Great job! You’ve drawn and colored a crazy crawfish creature. This fun project helps you get better at drawing and lets you be creative with colors and details. Enjoy your artwork, and feel free to try different colors and textures. Happy drawing!
Observation Walk: Take a walk outside with a parent or guardian and look for real-life crawfish or other small creatures. Observe their shapes, colors, and movements. Can you spot any similarities between your drawing and the real creatures? Draw what you see and compare it to your crazy crawfish creature.
Texture Hunt: At home, find different objects that have interesting textures, like a bumpy rock, a smooth leaf, or a rough piece of fabric. Use a piece of paper and a crayon to make texture rubbings. Then, think about how you can use these textures in your drawings. Try adding some of these textures to a new drawing of your crawfish creature.
Color Experiment: Gather different coloring tools like crayons, markers, and colored pencils. On a piece of paper, draw several small circles. Use different coloring tools to fill each circle with a different color or pattern. Which colors do you like best for your crawfish creature? Try using these colors to create a new version of your drawing.
