How to Draw a Tiger’s Head

Let’s learn how to draw a tiger’s head! This is going to be fun and exciting. Grab your paper and colored pencils, and let’s get started!

Step 1: Drawing the Eyes

First, turn your paper sideways. Draw two slanted lines that meet in the middle. These will be the tiger’s eyes. Then, draw U-shaped curves under each line to make the bottom of the eyes. Inside each eye, draw an oval for the pupil and color it in, but leave a tiny white spot to make it look shiny.

Step 2: Adding the Nose and Mouth

Now, let’s draw the tiger’s nose. Make a V shape that looks like a heart. On each side of the nose, draw two upside-down U shapes for the nostrils and color them in. It’s okay if your lines aren’t perfect!

Next, draw a line down from the nose for the mouth and add lines going out for the cheeks. Draw some wrinkles to make the tiger look like it’s growling.

Step 3: Detailing the Mouth

Draw two big, curvy fangs on each side of the mouth. Connect them with a line for the gums and add zigzag lines for smaller teeth. For the bottom teeth, draw upside-down V shapes next to the fangs and connect them with curves.

To add the tongue, draw a big U shape touching the bottom teeth, then draw a curved line on top to connect it back to the mouth.

Step 4: Shaping the Head

Now, let’s draw the tiger’s head. Make a big rainbow line over the top of the head. On each side, draw zigzag lines going down to look like fur.

For the ears, draw curved lines that go out and back down into the head. Inside the ears, add zigzag lines to make them look furry.

Step 5: Adding Stripes

To make the tiger look real, add stripes! Draw zigzag lines that curve down to the mouth. Then, add more zigzag lines like lightning bolts, connecting them to the mouth. Do the same on the other side of the face.

Add stripes above the eyes and on the forehead to look like spikes. You can add more stripes to make the tiger look even cooler!

Step 6: Final Details

Draw a zigzag line from the chin to make it look like the tiger has a beard. Add more zigzag lines around the face to make the fur look thick.

Now it’s time to color! Use black for the stripes and around the eyes and ears. Add some dark orange and gray to make your tiger look amazing.

Conclusion

Great job! You’ve drawn a tiger’s head. Remember, practice makes perfect, so keep trying if it’s not perfect the first time. The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy drawing. Happy drawing!

  • What was your favorite part about drawing the tiger’s head, and why did you like it? Can you think of any other animals you would like to draw using similar steps?
  • Have you ever seen a tiger in real life or in a picture? What do you notice about their stripes and colors that makes them unique?
  • When you draw, how does it make you feel? Do you like to draw alone or with friends and family, and why?
  1. Explore Tiger Patterns: Take a walk outside or look at pictures of different animals. Can you find any animals with stripes like a tiger? Draw a picture of your favorite animal with stripes and compare it to your tiger drawing. What makes the patterns similar or different?

  2. Make Your Own Tiger Mask: Use a paper plate to create a tiger mask. Cut out holes for the eyes and decorate it with stripes using markers or colored paper. Add ears using construction paper and attach a string to wear your mask. Show your mask to your family and explain how you drew the tiger’s head.

  3. Story Time with Tigers: Imagine a story about your tiger. Where does it live? What adventures does it go on? Draw a picture of your tiger in its habitat and write a short story to go along with it. Share your story with a friend or family member and ask them what they think your tiger might do next!
