Let’s Draw a Tiger Together!

Hey there! Are you ready to draw a cool tiger? Grab your crayons and some paper, and let’s have some fun!

What You Need

  • Crayons: Yellow, Orange, and Black
  • Paper

Step 1: Make the Tiger’s Head

Start by drawing a big circle in the middle of your paper with your yellow crayon. This circle is the tiger’s head. Color it in all the way. Take your time!

Step 2: Draw the Body

Now, let’s draw the body. Make a rectangle shape under the head. Draw two lines going down and connect them at the bottom. Color it in to finish the body.

Step 3: Add the Ears

For the ears, draw two upside-down U shapes or circles on top of the head. Color them in to give your tiger some personality!

Step 4: Draw the Tail

Time for the tail! Draw a little curve coming out from the body. You can choose which side you want it on.

Step 5: Use Orange for Practice

Take your orange crayon and trace over the head with another circle. Do the same for the body and ears. This makes your drawing look even better!

Step 6: Add Eyes and a Nose

Use your black crayon to draw two circles for the eyes. Add a happy face! For the nose, draw a “V” shape and connect the top. Color it in. It’s okay if your tiger looks a bit different!

Step 7: Draw Whiskers

Let’s add whiskers! Draw three whiskers on each cheek. You can add more if you want!

Step 8: Finish the Tail

At the end of the tail, draw an oval shape and color it in. This makes the tail look super cute!

Step 9: Add Stripes

Now for the fun part—stripes! Use your black crayon to draw small triangles on the sides of the head and body. Color them in to give your tiger its special look.

All Done!

Yay! You just drew a tiger! Remember, the best part is having fun and practicing. You can add your own special touches, like a big smile or sharp teeth. Keep drawing and enjoy!

  • What was your favorite part of drawing the tiger, and why did you like it the most?
  • Can you think of other animals you would like to draw using similar steps? What colors would you use for them?
  • Have you ever seen a real tiger or a picture of one? How does your drawing compare to what you’ve seen?
  1. Explore Animal Patterns: Take a walk in your neighborhood or visit a local zoo with a grown-up. Look for animals with stripes, spots, or other patterns. Can you find any animals that have patterns like your tiger? Draw a picture of your favorite animal pattern when you get home. Share your drawing with your class and talk about how these patterns help animals in the wild.

  2. Create a Story: Imagine your tiger is going on an adventure. Where is it going? What will it see? Write a short story or draw a comic strip about your tiger’s adventure. Share your story with your classmates and see what adventures their tigers went on!

  3. Color Mixing Fun: Use your crayons to experiment with colors. What happens when you mix yellow and orange together? Try coloring a small section of your paper with yellow, then color over it with orange. Do the same with other colors you have. What new colors can you create? Use these new colors to add more details to your tiger or create a new drawing.
