Valentine’s Day is coming soon, and it’s a great time to make a fun drawing of a Valentine’s envelope with a heart popping out! Let’s learn how to draw this step by step. Grab your markers and paper, and let’s get started!
First, let’s draw the envelope. Start by making a short line that curves down, like the bottom of a letter “L.” Then, draw a long line across for the bottom of the envelope.
Next, draw a line going up to match the left side of the envelope. At the top, make an upside-down “V” shape and curve it back down to make one of the flaps.
On the left side, draw a line down to the bottom of the flap, and do the same on the right side. To finish the envelope, draw a small point above the upside-down “V” to help us later.
Now, let’s draw the heart coming out of the envelope. Start by putting a point at the bottom center where the heart will be.
Draw a curve on the left side to make the left bump of the heart, then bring it down. Do the same on the right side to finish the heart. Remember, it’s okay if your heart looks a little different. Just have fun!
To show the back part of the envelope, draw a line from the point above the upside-down “V.” Imagine this line going behind the heart, then draw it down to connect to the other side of the envelope.
Now, let’s give your heart some personality! Draw two eyes. You can make one eye a circle and the other an upside-down “U” for a winking face.
Add a small circle inside the eye for a highlight and color in the larger circle. You can also add eyelashes if you want. For the mouth, draw a “3” shape to make kissy lips. Feel free to add a mustache or other fun features!
The last step is to color your drawing. You can choose any colors you like. You might want to add more hearts coming out of the envelope, each with different sizes and expressions for extra fun.
Great job on making your Valentine’s Day drawing! We hope you had a fun time and that your artwork makes you and others smile. Happy Valentine’s Day, and keep practicing your drawing skills!
Envelope Exploration: Look around your house or classroom for different types of envelopes. Notice their shapes and sizes. Can you find one that looks like the envelope you drew? Try drawing a new envelope using what you observed. How is it similar or different from the one in your drawing?
Heart Hunt: Go on a heart hunt! Look for heart shapes in everyday objects around you, like leaves, clouds, or even in the patterns on your clothes. Draw or take pictures of the heart shapes you find. How many different heart shapes can you discover?
Color and Emotion: Think about how colors can express feelings. Choose different colors for your heart and envelope and talk about how those colors make you feel. Does a red heart feel different from a blue one? Try drawing another heart with a different color and expression. How does it change the way your drawing feels?
