Drawing a Cute Witch: A Fun Guide for Young Artists

Today, we’re going on a fun drawing adventure! We’ll learn how to draw a cute witch using simple shapes. This is a fun activity for everyone! Grab your crayons in black, brown, green, yellow, and some paper, and let’s get started.

Step 1: Drawing the Witch’s Head

First, use your green crayon to draw a circle for the witch’s head. Put this circle in the middle of your paper. Once you’ve drawn the circle, color it in. Take your time and enjoy coloring!

Step 2: Creating the Witch’s Hat

Next, grab your black crayon to draw the witch’s hat. The hat looks like a triangle. Start by drawing a line that goes up and down to make the top of the hat, then draw a straight line across to finish the triangle. Color in the triangle to complete the hat.

Step 3: Adding the Body

Now, let’s give our witch a body! Draw a rectangle shape under the head. Start with the top of the rectangle, then draw two lines down for the sides, and finish with the bottom line. Color in the rectangle shape.

Step 4: Drawing the Face

Let’s make our witch smile! Draw two circles for the eyes. Then, add a happy smile to bring your witch to life!

Step 5: Adding Arms and Hands

Time to give our witch some arms. Draw two arms, one pointing up and the other down. Use your green crayon again to draw two circles for the hands. You can add fingers by drawing small lines coming out from the circles.

Step 6: Drawing a Cat Companion

Every witch needs a little friend! Let’s draw a cat next to her. Start with a circle for the cat’s head and then draw a rectangle shape for its body. For the cat’s ears, draw two triangle shapes on top of the head.

Now, let’s add some details to the cat. Use your yellow crayon to draw two circles for the cat’s eyes. Then, switch back to your black crayon to color in the body and ears. Leave the eyes white to make them pop!

Step 7: Adding a Tail

Our cat needs a tail! Draw a little curl coming up from the back of the cat’s body to complete the look.

Step 8: Drawing the Broom

Finally, let’s give our witch a broom. Draw a line coming from her hand to make the broomstick. You can place it wherever you like!

For the broom’s sweeping part, draw an upside-down “U” shape at the bottom of the broomstick, connecting it to the handle. Color in this shape to finish the broom.

Conclusion

Congratulations! You’ve drawn a cute witch with her cat and broom. We used simple shapes like circles, triangles, and rectangles to create our characters. The most important part is to have fun and practice your drawing skills.

We hope you enjoyed this drawing lesson, and we can’t wait to see you again for more creative adventures. Happy drawing!

  • What was your favorite part of drawing the witch and why? Did you enjoy using any particular colors or shapes?
  • Can you think of any other characters or animals you would like to draw using simple shapes? How would you start drawing them?
  • Have you ever seen a witch in a story or a movie? What was she like, and how is she similar or different from the witch you drew?
  1. Shape Hunt: Go on a shape hunt around your home or classroom. Look for objects that are shaped like the ones we used in our drawing: circles, triangles, and rectangles. Can you find a circle like the witch’s head or a triangle like her hat? Draw or take pictures of the objects you find and share them with your friends or family.

  2. Create Your Own Character: Use the same shapes we used to draw the witch to create your own character. It could be a wizard, a fairy, or even an animal! Think about what shapes you can use for the head, body, and other parts. Once you have drawn your character, color it in and give it a name. Share your creation with your class and tell them about your character’s story.

  3. Story Time with Your Drawing: Imagine a story about the witch and her cat. Where are they going on their broom? What adventures might they have? Draw a picture of the place they are visiting and write a short story about their adventure. Share your story with your classmates or family and see what exciting tales they come up with too!
