Let’s Draw an ATV Together!

Hey there! Are you ready to have some fun drawing an ATV? An ATV is a cool vehicle that can drive on all kinds of land. Let’s grab some paper, markers, and crayons, and get started on our drawing adventure!

What You Need

  • Paper
  • Markers or pencils
  • Crayons or colored pencils

Step 1: Draw the Wheels

First, let’s draw the wheels. Draw two big circles on the sides of your paper. These are the wheels! Inside each big circle, draw a smaller circle. This is the middle part of the wheel. To make the wheels look tough, draw little bumps all around the big circles. These bumps are the tire treads!

Step 2: Outline the Body of the ATV

Now, let’s draw the body of the ATV. Start by drawing a line from the middle of the front wheel going up a little bit. Then, draw a slanted line from the top of the front wheel, curving up and back. Next, draw the top of the hood with another slanted line, followed by a short line going down. Connect this to a straight line going to the back of the ATV.

Step 3: Add the Roll Bar

Time to draw the roll bar! This is like a cage on top of the ATV. Draw a slanted line going up from the front and back of the ATV. Connect these lines at the top to make a roof shape.

Step 4: Draw the Fenders

Let’s add the fenders. Draw a line from the front of the ATV to the back, then curve it down to the bottom. Make it thicker by drawing another line above it and curving it out at the bottom. Do the same for the back fender.

Step 5: Create the Doors

To make the doors, draw a slanted line from the fender downwards. Connect this line to the bottom part of the ATV. For the back door, imagine a line going through the front door and connect it to the fender.

Step 6: Add the Seats

Draw the front seat like an upside-down “U” shape. Connect the bottom of the seat to the floor of the ATV. Do the same for the back seat, making sure it looks like the front seat.

Step 7: Draw the Steering Wheel and Suspension

For the steering wheel, draw two slanted lines from the door and connect them at the top. To add the suspension, draw slanted lines connecting the wheels to the fenders. Add more lines going across to show the suspension system.

Step 8: Add Details

Now, let’s add some cool details! Draw the headlights and taillights by making small lines that connect to the fenders. You can also draw a fire extinguisher on the back of the roll cage by drawing a rectangle with two lines for the strap.

Step 9: Color Your Drawing

Yay! You’ve finished drawing your ATV. Now it’s time to color it! Use your markers or crayons to make it look awesome. You can even add a background with mountains or trees if you want. Be creative and have fun!

Conclusion

Great job! You’ve drawn your very own ATV. Remember, there’s no right or wrong way to color it, so enjoy yourself. We hope you had fun with this activity and can’t wait to see your amazing artwork. Share it with your friends and family. Happy drawing!

  • What was your favorite part about drawing the ATV, and why did you like it? Can you think of other vehicles you would like to draw?
  • Have you ever seen an ATV in real life or in a picture? What did it look like, and where was it? How do you think it would feel to ride one?
  • When you colored your ATV, did you choose any special colors? Why did you pick those colors, and what do they remind you of?
  1. ATV Adventure Hunt: Go on a mini-adventure in your backyard or local park. Look for objects that remind you of the parts of an ATV. Can you find something round like the wheels? Or something that could be the roll bar? Take a picture or draw what you find and share it with your class.

  2. Design Your Own Vehicle: Imagine you could create any vehicle you wanted. What would it look like? Use the steps from drawing the ATV to design your own unique vehicle. Think about what special features it might have and draw them. Share your design with your classmates and explain why you chose those features.

  3. Color and Texture Exploration: Find different textures around your home or classroom, like a bumpy sponge or a smooth table. Use crayons or colored pencils to rub over these textures on paper. Then, use these textured papers to create a collage background for your ATV drawing. How do these textures make your drawing look different?
