How to Draw a Cozy Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows

Winter is a great time to enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate. Let’s have fun by drawing a picture of hot chocolate with marshmallows and a straw! Grab your markers and paper, and let’s start drawing!

Step 1: Draw the Top of the Hot Chocolate

Start by drawing a curved line in the middle of your paper. It should look like a smile. Then, draw two lines that go down and back up to make the shape of the hot chocolate.

Step 2: Add Marshmallow Buddies

Now, let’s add two marshmallows inside the hot chocolate. For the first marshmallow, draw a line that curves up and down. Connect the bottom with a curve to finish the shape. For the second marshmallow, draw a similar shape that overlaps the first one, making it look like it’s behind. Connect the bottom with a curve too.

Step 3: Give the Marshmallows Faces

Let’s make the marshmallows look funny! Draw two eyes and a small mouth on the first marshmallow. For the second marshmallow, draw upside-down U shapes for the eyes and a smile in between.

Step 4: Draw the Straw

Time to add a straw! Draw a long line going down into the hot chocolate, then draw another line next to it. At the bottom, make a small curve like a half-circle. Connect the top with an oval shape. You can add stripes to make it look like a candy cane.

Step 5: Complete the Hot Chocolate Cup

Let’s finish the hot chocolate cup. Imagine the first curve going behind the marshmallows and straw, and draw it around to connect on the other side. Draw another curve over the marshmallows and straw for the top of the cup. Then, draw two lines coming down from the top curve and connect them at the bottom with another curve.

Step 6: Add the Cup Handle

Don’t forget the handle! Draw a big backward C-shape starting from the top of the cup and connecting back in. Inside this shape, draw a smaller C-shape to finish the handle.

Step 7: Give the Cup a Face

Let’s make the cup lively with a cartoon face! Draw two circles for the eyes and add smaller circles inside for highlights. Color in the larger circles, leaving the smaller ones white. For the mouth, draw a diagonal line between the eyes and a big U shape for an open mouth. Add a rainbow line for the tongue.

Step 8: Add Steam

Finally, draw some steam coming off the hot chocolate. Make a swirl that goes up and back down to show warmth.

Step 9: Color Your Drawing

Your drawing is ready to be colored! Use colored pencils, crayons, or any coloring tools you like. Be creative with your colors!

Conclusion

Great job on drawing your cozy hot chocolate! We hope you had fun and added your own special touches. Enjoy your artwork and share it with your friends and family!

  • What is your favorite part of making or drinking hot chocolate, and why do you like it so much?
  • If you could add anything else to your hot chocolate drawing, what would it be and why?
  • Have you ever drawn something that made you feel cozy and warm? What was it, and how did it make you feel?
  1. Marshmallow Experiment: At home, with the help of an adult, try a simple experiment with real marshmallows. Place a few marshmallows in a cup of warm water and observe what happens. Do they float like in your drawing? Discuss why you think marshmallows float and how this relates to your drawing of hot chocolate.

  2. Design Your Own Cup: Imagine you have a special cup for your hot chocolate. Draw a new cup design on a piece of paper. Think about what colors and patterns you would like on your cup. Would you add any special decorations or characters? Share your design with your classmates and explain why you chose those colors and patterns.

  3. Story Time with Marshmallow Characters: Create a short story about the marshmallow buddies you drew. What adventures do they go on while sitting in the hot chocolate? Do they have names? Write a few sentences or tell your story to a friend or family member, using your drawing as inspiration.
