Today, we’re going to learn how to draw Gary, the cute snail from SpongeBob SquarePants. Get your markers, paper, and coloring tools ready, and let’s have some fun!
Before we start, make sure you have these things:
1. First Eye: Draw a big circle in the top left corner of your paper for Gary’s first eye.
2. Second Eye: Draw another circle that overlaps the first one a little bit. Try to make them the same size.
3. Pupils: Inside each eye, draw a smaller circle and color it in for the pupils.
1. Eyelids: Draw a curve from the bottom of the right eye downwards to make the long part of Gary’s eye. Do the same for the left eye and connect them at the bottom.
1. Body Outline: Draw a line that curves back from the eyes to start Gary’s body.
2. Mouth: Draw a curved line for Gary’s mouth. It can be open or closed.
3. Body Shape: Draw the other side of Gary’s body, making sure it looks like the first side.
1. Shell Base: Draw a curve for the bottom of Gary’s shell.
2. Top of the Shell: Draw a small bump and then a big curve that goes back to the eye to make the top of the shell.
3. Shell Details: Add some curves to show the shell’s texture. We’ll add more details when we color.
1. Bottom Curve: Draw a curve that goes out and then back in to finish the bottom of Gary’s body.
2. Wavy Lines: Draw a wavy line along the back, like SpongeBob’s body outline.
1. Pick Your Colors: Use colors like pink, orange, and purple. If you have special markers, you can use those too.
2. Coloring: Start coloring Gary’s body. You can go fast or take your time.
3. Add Details: Use orange for a ring around the pupils, red for the swirl on his shell, and purple dots on the shell.
1. Outline Gary: Make a thicker outline around Gary to give him a cartoon look. You can do this quickly or take your time.
2. Check Your Drawing: Look at your drawing and see how awesome it is!
Great job drawing Gary from SpongeBob SquarePants! We hope you had a lot of fun, and your drawing looks amazing. Keep practicing, and see you next time for more drawing fun!
Observation Walk: Take a walk around your home or neighborhood and look for snails or snail-like shapes. Can you find anything that reminds you of Gary’s shell or body? Draw what you see and compare it to your drawing of Gary. Discuss with a friend or family member how real snails are similar or different from Gary.
Color Mixing Experiment: Gather some paints or colored pencils and try mixing colors to match Gary’s unique colors. What happens when you mix red and blue? Can you create the perfect shade of pink for Gary’s body? Experiment with different combinations and see what new colors you can create. Share your favorite color mix with the class.
Story Time with Gary: Imagine a day in the life of Gary the Snail. Write a short story or draw a comic strip about an adventure Gary might have in Bikini Bottom. What other characters from SpongeBob might he meet? Share your story or comic with your classmates and see what adventures they imagined for Gary.
