Introduction

Hey there! Today, we’re going to have lots of fun drawing Gudetama, the sleepy egg character. Plus, there’s a chance to win a cuddly Gudetama plushie! We have six big plushies and one tiny baby plushie to give away. Keep reading to find out how you can win one!

Drawing Gudetama

Let’s draw Gudetama holding a balloon. Are you ready? Let’s get started!

Materials Needed

  • Paper (use two sheets if you’re using a black marker)
  • Sharpie, washable black marker, pencil, or crayon

Step-by-Step Drawing Instructions

1. Draw the Rainbow Line: Begin by drawing a big rainbow line or an upside-down “U” shape in the middle of your paper. This will be the top of Gudetama’s body.

2. Add the Legs: Draw a curve coming down from the rainbow line for each leg. Make a little curl at the bottom for his feet, then curve back up to finish the legs.

3. Create the Face: For Gudetama’s face, draw a squished oval for the mouth and two squished circles for the eyes above the mouth. Color in the eyes to make them stand out!

4. Draw the Arms: Gudetama’s arms are down. For the right arm, draw a diagonal line down, curve around, and back up. For the left arm, draw it up like he’s holding a balloon.

5. Outline the Egg Shape: Draw the white, fluffy part of the egg by curving around the sides of his body. Connect the bottom of the egg shape back to the body.

6. Add the Balloon: Draw a straight line from Gudetama’s arm to the balloon, which goes through his head. At the top of the line, draw a small arrow, an upside-down “V” for the bottom of the balloon, and a big circle or oval for the balloon itself.

7. Final Touches: It’s okay if your drawing looks a little different from ours! The most important part is to have fun and practice.

Coloring

Once you’ve finished your drawing, it’s time to color! You can pause and take your time to color it just the way you like.
