How to Draw a Sock Monkey Character

Let’s have some fun drawing a cute sock monkey named Monks! Get your drawing tools ready, and let’s start creating!

Materials Needed

Before we begin, make sure you have these items:

  • Drawing paper
  • Markers or any coloring materials you like

Step 1: Draw the Eyes

Start by drawing two circles for Monks’ eyes. Place them near the top of your paper, leaving room for the rest of the body. Make sure both circles are the same size and color them in.

Step 2: Draw the Mouth

Below the eyes, draw an upside-down “U” shape connecting both circles. Then, add a “U” shape underneath to make the mouth. To give Monks a happy smile, draw a small curve in the middle of the mouth.

Step 3: Add Stitches and Nostrils

Draw small rectangle shapes over the smile to look like stitches. Add a few more on each side. For the nostrils, draw diagonal lines on either side of the mouth.

Step 4: Draw the Head and Ears

Draw a big upside-down “U” shape for the head, starting from one side of the mouth and curving around to the other side. For the ears, draw a big “C” shape on each side of the head, and add smaller “C” shapes inside them.

Step 5: Add Hair

At the top of Monks’ head, draw a curve that goes up and back down. This is the hair. Add a couple of circles at the ends of the curves for extra detail.

Step 6: Draw the Scarf

To make Monks’ scarf, draw two small bumps on either side of the neck. Connect these with a curve that dips down and then curves back up.

Step 7: Draw the Body

From the scarf, draw a curve downwards on both sides to form the body. Extend this down to create the waist, and then draw the legs coming out from the body.

Step 8: Draw the Legs and Feet

For the legs, draw an upside-down “V” shape starting from the ankles. Add curves for the heels and draw diagonal lines for the front of the shoes, connecting them to the back.

Step 9: Add Details to the Legs

Draw a curve on each leg to show a stitch, and add small rectangle shapes like the ones on the mouth for more detail.

Step 10: Finish the Scarf

Go back to the scarf and draw a curve from the neck down, adding another line next to it to match the length. Connect these at the bottom and add short lines to finish the scarf.

Step 11: Draw the Arms

Starting from the shoulders, draw long curves down for the arms. For the hands, create simple mitten shapes at the end of each arm, adding curves for the thumbs.

Step 12: Add Final Details

Draw lines above the wrists to show the edges of the gloves and add stitches across the shoulders with small rectangles.

Step 13: Draw the Tail

Finally, draw a small “S” shape for the tail, connecting it with a backward “C” shape at the end.

Step 14: Color Your Drawing

Now that you have completed the outline of Monks, it’s time to color her in! Use markers or any coloring materials you like. Feel free to get creative with your color choices.
