Drawing is a super fun way to make your favorite characters come to life, like Pikachu! Let’s learn how to draw Pikachu step by step. Grab your paper and pencils, and let’s get started!
Start by drawing two big circles for Pikachu’s eyes. Place them near the top of your paper, with a little space between them. Make sure they are the same size.
Now, add some sparkle to Pikachu’s eyes by drawing smaller circles inside the big ones. Color the big circles black, but leave the small circles white to make Pikachu’s eyes look shiny and bright.
For Pikachu’s nose, draw a tiny dot or line right between the eyes, just a bit lower. To make his happy mouth, draw a small point in the center and then a U-shape on each side. Now Pikachu looks cheerful!
Let’s draw Pikachu’s head! Start above one eye and make a big curve, like a rainbow, over to the other eye.
Next, draw his cute cheeks by making small bumps that go in towards his eyes and then out again. Make sure both cheeks look the same.
On each cheek, draw a half-circle to show Pikachu’s rosy cheeks. Make sure both circles are the same size so Pikachu looks balanced.
Draw Pikachu’s ears by making a curve that goes out from the top of his head and then back in towards the space between his head and cheeks. Do the same for the other ear. Add a slanted line at the tips of both ears and color them in.
To draw Pikachu’s body, start with an S-line on each side, beginning at the bottom of the cheek circles. Curve the line down and then out, and do the same on the other side.
Now, draw Pikachu’s front legs. Start with a curve that goes down towards the middle, and do the same on the other side. Draw another curve for the outer part of the legs, leading to where his wrists would be.
Add five little V-shapes at the bottom of each leg for his fingers. It’s okay if you don’t get all five; just try your best!
For Pikachu’s feet, draw an oval shape for each foot, leaving a gap at the top. Add two lines for the toes and draw the bottom of each leg.
Now, let’s draw Pikachu’s tail! Start by drawing one side of the tail with a sideways V shape that goes behind his head. Then, make a big curve for the top of the tail, followed by a zigzag line to form the end of the tail.
Time to color your Pikachu! Use bright yellow for his body, dark orange for shading at the bottom, and red for his cheeks. You can also add brown to the tail and use a white colored pencil for highlights in the eyes.
Great job! You’ve drawn your very own Pikachu. Remember, it’s okay if your drawing doesn’t look exactly like the example. The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy drawing. Happy drawing, and see you next time!
Pikachu Observation Walk: Take a walk around your home or neighborhood and look for things that remind you of Pikachu. It could be something yellow, something with a zigzag pattern like Pikachu’s tail, or something round like Pikachu’s cheeks. Draw or take a picture of what you find and share it with your class. Discuss how these objects remind you of Pikachu and what makes them similar or different.
Create Your Own Character: Use the steps you learned to draw Pikachu and create your own character. Think about what kind of animal or creature you want to draw. What shape will its eyes be? How will its ears look? What colors will you use? Share your drawing with your classmates and explain the choices you made for your character.
Story Time with Pikachu: Imagine Pikachu is going on an adventure. Write a short story about where Pikachu is going and what he might see along the way. Draw a picture of Pikachu in one of the places from your story. Share your story and drawing with your class and talk about how you used your drawing skills to bring your story to life.
