Today, we’re going to learn how to draw Spiny, a cool turtle character from the Mario games. Get your drawing tools ready, and let’s have some fun!
Before we start, make sure you have these things:
First, use your pencil to draw a circle for Spiny’s head. Make it big enough to fit all the details. Then, draw a curve on top of the circle like a rainbow. This will be the top of Spiny’s shell.
Now, take your marker and draw an “S” shape starting from the top of the head. Draw another line above it that looks the same. Connect these lines with a curve at the ends. This will make Spiny’s shell look more real.
Inside the circle, draw a line that follows the circle’s shape to make Spiny’s head. Add a bump for the cheek or nose that touches the circle. Use your marker to connect it to the shell.
Use an eraser to get rid of any extra lines inside the marker lines. This will make your drawing look neat and tidy.
Make two small dots for the eyes, leaving space for eyebrows. From each dot, draw a line going up to the shell. Then, draw a “U” shape for each eye and add little circles inside for the pupils.
Time to draw Spiny’s spikes! Draw a triangle shape for the first spike, and connect the bottom with a curve. Do this again for more spikes, leaving space between each one.
Let’s draw Spiny’s feet. Start with an upside-down “U” shape for the first foot. Add three little lines for toes. For the second foot, draw a curve from the cheek and add two toes. Do the same for the third foot. Connect the feet to the body with a small curve.
Now that your drawing is done, erase any leftover lines. It’s time to color Spiny! Use red and orange-yellow for the body, gray for the spikes, and yellow for extra details.
Great job! You’ve drawn and colored Spiny from Mario. Take your time to make it colorful and add any special touches you like. We hope you had a blast drawing with us. Keep practicing and have fun creating more art!
Spiny Observation Walk: Take a walk around your home or school and look for objects that remind you of Spiny’s shape or features. Can you find anything that looks like Spiny’s shell or spikes? Draw or describe what you find. This will help you notice shapes and patterns in the world around you.
Create Your Own Character: Use the steps you learned to draw Spiny and create your own character. Think about what kind of shell, spikes, or colors your character might have. Give your character a name and a story. Share your drawing and story with a friend or family member.
Color Mixing Experiment: Use your crayons or colored pencils to mix colors and create new ones. Try mixing red and yellow to see what happens. Use these new colors to add unique touches to your Spiny drawing. This will help you understand how colors can change and blend.
