How to Draw Stitch: A Fun Guide

Drawing is a super fun way to be creative, and today we’re going to learn how to draw Stitch, the cute character from Disney. Get your drawing stuff ready, and let’s have some fun!

What You Need

  • Paper
  • Pencil or pen
  • Colors (like markers or crayons)

Step 1: Draw Stitch’s Head

Start by drawing Stitch’s head in the middle of your paper. Make a big upside-down “U” shape. Then, add a small curve on one side for his cheek. This curve should be a little flat, like a gentle smile.

Step 2: Add the Nose

In the center of Stitch’s head, draw a big “U” shape for his nose. It might look like a “V” with a pointy bottom. Finish the nose with a curved line on top and add tiny nostrils on each side.

Step 3: Draw the Eyes

Draw two big circles for Stitch’s eyes—one on the left and one on the right. Inside each eye, draw a smaller circle at the top to make a shiny spot. Color the big circles, but leave the small circles white.

Step 4: Create the Mouth

Draw a short curve in the middle of Stitch’s face for a frown. Then, curve the ends up to make him smile. Add cheek lines and two tiny wrinkles above the mouth for extra detail.

Step 5: Add Eyebrows

Draw an upside-down “U” shape over each eye for Stitch’s eyebrows. Connect them to the outer part of his head.

Step 6: Draw the Ears

Draw a big curve next to his cheek on both sides for Stitch’s ears. At the top of each ear, draw an upside-down “U” shape, then a sideways “V” to make a notch. Connect the ears back to the cheeks. To make the ears look 3D, draw a line from the top of each ear to the cheek.

Step 7: Add Hair

Draw a little tuft of hair on top of Stitch’s head. Make a diagonal line and then a zigzag shape.

Step 8: Draw the Body and Arms

Draw Stitch’s body starting from his chin. Make a curve that goes down on both sides. Then, draw a big raindrop shape for his body, curving down and back up. For his arms, draw the raindrop shape on both sides, making sure they meet at the bottom. Add three curved “V” shapes at the bottom of each arm for his claws.

Step 9: Add Details to the Body

Draw a zigzag line on his chest to show fur. Then, sketch the bottom of his body between his arms.

Step 10: Draw the Back Legs

For Stitch’s back legs, draw a curve like the letter “C” on one side and a backwards “C” on the other. Add four small claws at the bottom of each leg and a little circle inside each foot for his paws. Don’t forget to add tiny bumps for his knees.

Step 11: Color Your Drawing

Now that you’ve drawn Stitch, it’s time to color him! Use three shades of blue: dark blue for his nose and claws, medium blue for his body, and light blue for his eyes and belly. You can also add a tongue and a line from his nose to his mouth for extra detail.

Conclusion

Great job! You’ve drawn Stitch. Remember, it’s okay if your drawing looks a bit different. The most important thing is to have fun and keep practicing. Enjoy your creative journey, and happy drawing!

  1. Stitch Observation Walk: Take a walk around your home or neighborhood and look for objects that remind you of Stitch’s shapes. Can you find anything that looks like an upside-down “U” for his head or a “V” shape for his nose? Draw or take pictures of these objects and share them with your class. This will help you see how shapes are everywhere around us!
  2. Create Your Own Character: Using the steps you learned to draw Stitch, try creating your own character. Start with basic shapes like circles, “U” shapes, and “V” shapes. Give your character a name and a story. What kind of personality do they have? Share your drawing and story with your family or friends.
  3. Color Mixing Experiment: Gather some crayons or markers and try mixing different shades of blue to see what new colors you can create. Use these new colors to add unique touches to your Stitch drawing or your own character. Notice how different shades can change the way your drawing looks and feels.
