How to Make Money Tips

Welcome to learningmole.com! Today, we’re going to learn about how to earn money. I wanted a new BMX bike because it’s super cool and you can do all sorts of tricks with it! But, it’s a bit expensive. When I asked my dad to buy it for me, he said, “I’ll pay half, but you will have to earn the other half.” Wow, that’s almost a hundred pounds! I thought, “I never get that much for my birthday!”

My dad explained that I need to earn the money. But what does “earn” mean? Well, earning money means you do some work or a job, and then someone gives you money for it. Different jobs pay different amounts. Some jobs pay you for each hour you work, so the more hours you work, the more money you get. Other jobs pay you a salary, which means you work a certain number of hours each week to earn your money. You can get paid daily, weekly, or monthly, depending on the job.

Ways to Earn Money

After my dad explained all this, I understood that I need to do some work to earn money for my bike. But I’m only seven! What can I do? My dad had some great ideas. He made a list of things I can do to earn money:

  • Help with the dishwasher
  • Wash the car
  • Help granny with her shopping
  • Do chores around the house

There are lots of little jobs I can do! My dad said that if I work hard, I can earn the money for my BMX bike faster. I don’t mind doing some work if it means I can get my bike sooner!

  1. Money Jar Challenge: Create a money jar at home. Every time you do a small job or chore, ask your parents to give you a small amount of money to put in your jar. Watch how your savings grow over time! Discuss with your parents what you might want to save up for, just like the BMX bike in the story.

  2. Role-Playing Jobs: With your friends or family, play a game where each person pretends to have a different job. You could be a teacher, a chef, or a shopkeeper. Talk about what each job might involve and how you would earn money doing it. This will help you understand the variety of jobs people do to earn money.

  3. Observation Walk: Go for a walk with a family member and observe people working in different places like shops, parks, or construction sites. Discuss what jobs they might be doing and how they are earning money. Try to think of other jobs you might not see on your walk but know exist, like doctors or artists.

Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

Welcome to learningmole.com! Today we’re going to talk about earning money. I asked my dad to buy me a new BMX bike. It’s amazing; you can do all sorts of tricks! But it is a little bit expensive. Guess what my dad said when he saw the price? He said, “I’ll pay half, but you will have to earn the other half.” That’s nearly a hundred pounds, I said. I never get that much for my birthday! He replied, “Well, you’re going to have to earn it.”

“What do you mean?” I asked. My dad explained that I have to do some work in order to earn money to help pay for my new bike. He then went into a long story about the olden days. Apparently, money doesn’t grow on trees or just appear; you must earn it. But what does “earn” actually mean?

Well, you work, do a job, or provide a service, and someone will pay you money in return. So basically, if you work, you can earn money. Different types of jobs pay different amounts of money. Some jobs pay per hour, so the more hours you work, the more money you earn. Some jobs pay a salary, which means you must work a certain number of hours each week to earn your salary. Depending on your job, you can be paid daily, weekly, or monthly.

After the longest explanation, I finally understood: I’ll have to do some work to earn some money. But I’m only seven! What can I do? I said. Then my dad produced a list: help with the dishwasher, help wash the car, help your granny with her shopping, and chores around the house. There are loads of jobs that you can do, my dad said.

I really don’t mind doing some work if I can earn money to get my BMX bike a little bit quicker. I hope you enjoyed my story, but I must get going and do some work if I want to earn the money I need for my bike. Why not subscribe or visit us at www.learningmole.com?
