Let’s Go on an Ice Cream Adventure!

Hi there! I’m Cory, and today we’re going on a super fun adventure to find the ice cream truck! Are you ready? Let’s go!

Counting and Listening

First, I was counting: one, two, and then I heard something special. It was the sound of the ice cream truck! I got so excited and told everyone, “Ice cream truck!”

Getting Ready

We needed some money to buy ice cream, so we ran to find Mama and Papa. We were all so excited to get some yummy treats!

Finding Friends

On our way, we met our friend Freddie. He was playing on a splashy slide. We told him about the ice cream truck, and he got excited too! We all started dreaming about our favorite ice cream flavors.

Following the Music

We listened carefully to the music to find the ice cream truck. Everyone was so happy and shouting, “Ice cream! Ice cream!” But then, we couldn’t find it. Oh no!

Oops! A Little Mistake

We found out that the music we heard wasn’t the ice cream truck. It was a music show! But I still believed the ice cream truck was out there somewhere.

Never Give Up!

Even though it was hot and we were tired, we didn’t give up. I knew I heard the ice cream truck, and I was right! Suddenly, we heard the real ice cream truck music!

Yay! Ice Cream Time!

The ice cream truck finally found us, and we were so happy! We all got our favorite ice cream treats and enjoyed them together. It was the best day ever!

What Did We Learn?

Today, we learned to listen carefully, work together with friends, and never give up on finding something special. And of course, we learned that ice cream is super yummy!

Thanks for joining me on this adventure. I hope you had fun! See you next time!

  • Have you ever heard the sound of an ice cream truck? What did it make you feel, and what did you do when you heard it?
  • What is your favorite ice cream flavor, and why do you like it so much? Do you have any special memories of eating ice cream with friends or family?
  • Can you think of a time when you were looking for something special and didn’t give up until you found it? How did it feel when you finally found it?
  • Ice Cream Sound Hunt: At home or in the classroom, play different sounds and ask the children to identify them. Include the sound of an ice cream truck. Encourage them to listen carefully and describe what they hear. This will help them practice listening skills just like in the story.
  • Flavor Imagination Station: Provide paper and crayons for the children to draw their dream ice cream flavor. Ask them to think about what ingredients they would use and why. This activity encourages creativity and helps them express their preferences, just like Cory and his friends did.
  • Teamwork Treasure Hunt: Organize a simple treasure hunt where children must work together to find a hidden “ice cream” (a picture or toy). Provide clues that require listening and cooperation. This will reinforce the lesson of working together and not giving up, just like in the adventure.
