Hello, friends! How are you today? I hope you’re having a fantastic day and learning lots of fun things. Are you ready to read a story with us? Today, we have a special book called “I’m Reggie Rocket” by Carl Wheatley and Simon Hart Hill. Let’s dive into the story!
This is Reggie Rocket. He’s on his way to school. Reggie is really smart and loves to learn. He knows all about numbers, letters, and how to spell. His paintings are full of bright colors, and he loves to sing and play his guitar. Reggie dreams of being a famous rock star one day!
In his dream, Reggie is a cool rock star with spiky hair. Everyone is singing along, and the music is loud. The crowd is cheering, “Reggie Rocket! Reggie Rocket!” But then, Reggie wakes up and realizes it was just a dream.
Reggie wants to sing for real, so he sings at his window. A postman hears him and thinks Reggie is great! The postman tells Reggie not to be shy and to sing out loud. Reggie feels happy and decides to sing even louder next time.
Next, a doctor walks by and hears Reggie singing. She tells him to come downstairs so everyone can hear him better. Reggie is excited and promises to sing downstairs next time.
Then, a policeman hears Reggie and tells him to come outside so everyone can see him. Reggie feels proud and decides to sing outside the next day.
The next day, after school, Reggie grabs his guitar and dresses like a rock star. He goes outside and starts to play. Everyone on the street, including kids from his school, starts dancing and cheering, “Reggie Rocket! Reggie Rocket! You’re super cool!”
Reggie is still a smart student at school, but now he knows he can be cool too. He doesn’t worry anymore because he believes in himself. And that’s the story of “I’m Reggie Rocket.” Did you enjoy it?

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Storytime Family. How’s your day going? I hope you’re having a super day and learning lots of interesting new things at school today. Are you ready to sit down and read a book with us? Today we have a book called “I’m Reggie Rocket” by Carl Wheatley and Simon Hart Hill. Let’s check it out, shall we?
Here is Reggie Rocket. He’s on his way to school. In lessons, he’s a super nerd and wishes he was cool. Timetables, phonics, spellings—he really is the best! His paintings are so colorful, better than the rest. Reggie loves to sing all day and play on his guitar. He hopes one day that he will be a famous superstar.
Who is this cool rock star with spiky, funky hair? Everyone is singing, and he looks so cool up there. The speakers are vibrating, and the music’s really loud. Sunglasses, tan, and hat—he’s performing to the crowd. “Reggie Rocket! Reggie Rocket!” the crowd all screams. The super cool rock star is me! But it was just a dream.
“Wake up, wake up! You should be out of bed!” Pictures of the rock star were still inside his head. Disappointed to believe that it was just a dream, he really wished that it was him who everyone had seen. Reggie thought and pondered, “Where could I sing instead?” How about the window? A voice inside him said.
He sang at his window as people walked on by. He couldn’t see who it was as he was up so high. A bright red van and a cap upon his head, a sack full of letters that needed to be read. Oh look, it is the postman on his daily round! He stopped at Reggie’s house so he could hear the sound. He looked up to the window so he could see the show. The postman thought that he was great and wanted him to know.
“I’ve noticed you playing up there in your house. Please don’t be so quiet, just like a small dormouse.” “Oh, thank you, Mr. Postman! Do you think I’m cool?” “Yes,” said the postman. “Do you play at school?” “When I sing tomorrow, I’ll try to sing out loud, and that way when you watch me, I know you’ll be proud.”
He sang at his window as people walked on by. He couldn’t see who it was as he was up so high. A bag in her hand, a stethoscope in place, wearing a mask that covers up her face. Oh look, it is a doctor! I hope no one’s sick. She stopped outside his house as her fingers start to click. She looked up to the window so she could see the show. The doctor thought he was great and wanted him to know.
“Why are you playing up there in your room? Why not come downstairs so we can hear your tune?” “Thank you, dearest doctor! Do you think I’m cool?” “Yes,” said the doctor. “I think you really rule!” “When I sing tomorrow, I know what I will do. I will come downstairs so you get a better view.”
He sang in the front room as people walked on by. He couldn’t see who it was; the sun shone in his eye. Lights flashing brightly, handcuffs in his pocket, a shiny helmet that looked just like a rocket. Oh look, it is the policeman walking on his beat! He stopped at Reggie’s house, and he starts to tap his feet. He looked into the window so he could see the show. The policeman thought that he was great and wanted him to know.
“Why are you playing there, hiding behind your door? You should come outside right now so we can see you more.” “Thank you, Mr. Policeman! Do you think I’m cool?” “Yes,” said the policeman. “You shine just like a jewel!” “When I sing tomorrow, I will be outside. I will play on my guitar and I will sing with pride.”
The following day when Reggie returned from school, he recalled the people who thought he was cool. He rushed up to his room and grabbed his old guitar, then he came downstairs dressed like a cool rock star. He ran through his door to the stage on the street, and in no time at all, people were tapping their feet. The whole street was rocking; there were children from his school. “Reggie Rocket! Reggie Rocket! We think you’re super cool!”
Oh look at him! Reggie’s still a super nerd when he goes back to school, but now he doesn’t worry, thinking he’s not super cool. And that was “I’m Reggie Rocket.” Did you enjoy this book?
