  • What are some of the rules you have to follow during special occasions like Christmas? Do you think these rules are important? Why or why not?
  • Can you think of a time when you had to wait for something exciting, just like David had to wait for Christmas morning? How did you feel while waiting?
  • What are some things you do to get ready for a holiday or celebration with your family? How do these preparations make the day special for you?
  1. Christmas Rules Role Play: Gather your friends or family and act out the different rules David learns about during Christmas. Pretend you are at a Christmas dinner and practice using the right fork, sitting up straight, and keeping your napkin on your lap. Discuss why these rules might be important during special occasions.

  2. Santa’s Watchful Eye: Create a “Good Deeds Calendar” for the month of December. Each day, draw or write one good thing you did, like helping a friend or cleaning up your toys. At the end of the month, look back and see all the nice things you did, just like Santa would notice!

  3. Patience Practice: Think of something you really want to do or have, like playing a favorite game or eating a special treat. Set a timer for a short period, like 5 minutes, and practice waiting patiently without peeking or asking. Talk about how it felt to wait and why patience is important, especially during exciting times like Christmas.
