Lesson Activities

  1. Role-Playing Helpers: Gather some toys and props like a toy stethoscope, bandages, or a toy car. Encourage the children to role-play as Nurse Mew, Nurse Kiki, or other helpers. They can pretend to check a toy’s temperature, drive a toy car to help someone, or wrap a bandage around a teddy bear. Ask them to think about how it feels to help others and why it’s important.

  2. Neighborhood Safety Walk: Take a short walk around the school or neighborhood. Ask the children to look for things that help keep people safe, like crosswalks, stop signs, or friendly helpers like crossing guards. Discuss why these things are important and how they help people feel safe, just like Nurse Kiki does in the neighborhood.

  3. Healthy Teeth Experiment: Provide the children with a hard-boiled egg and a cup of soda. Explain that the egg represents their teeth. Let the egg sit in the soda for a few hours or overnight. The next day, observe what happened to the egg and discuss how brushing teeth helps keep them clean and healthy, just like Nurse Kiki teaches. Encourage them to think about other ways to keep their bodies healthy.
