Be a Farmer!

Do you want to be a farmer? Farmers grow yummy fruits and vegetables. They take care of animals like cows and chickens. Let’s all pretend to be farmers together! Can you moo like a cow or cluck like a chicken?

Be a Teacher!

How about being a teacher? Teachers help kids learn new things like reading and counting. They make learning fun! Let’s pretend to be teachers and teach our toys the alphabet. Can you say A, B, C?

Be a Pilot!

Carpenters build things like houses and furniture. They use tools like hammers and saws. Let’s pretend to be carpenters and build a pretend house with blocks. Bang, bang, bang!

You Can Be Anything!

Guess what? You can be anything you want to be! Use your imagination and have fun pretending. What do you want to be today?

  • What is your favorite job to pretend to be, and why do you like it? Can you think of something fun you would do in that job?
  • Have you ever seen someone doing one of these jobs in real life? What did you notice about what they were doing?
  • If you could create a new pretend job that doesn’t exist, what would it be? What would you do in that job?
  • Farmers’ Market Adventure: Take a walk around your neighborhood or visit a local farmers’ market. Look for different fruits and vegetables. Can you name them? Try to find one fruit or vegetable for each color of the rainbow. Talk about how farmers grow these foods and why they are important.

  • Classroom Role Play: Set up a mini classroom at home with your toys as students. Use a small chalkboard or paper to write letters or numbers. Pretend to be a teacher and teach your toys something new, like counting to ten or singing the alphabet song. Ask your toys questions and pretend they answer back!

  • Pilot’s Flight Plan: Create a simple map of your room or house. Use toy airplanes to fly from one place to another on your map. Pretend you are a pilot announcing the flight plan to your passengers. What places will you visit? What will you see from the sky?
