In today’s lesson, we explored various fun jobs that people do, highlighting the unique roles of a teacher, doctor, dentist, carpenter, and pilot. Each profession contributes to society in special ways, from educating children and promoting health to building structures and flying airplanes. The lesson encourages children to appreciate these careers and inspires them to dream about their future possibilities.
  1. What is one thing a teacher helps us learn?
  2. How does a doctor help us when we are sick?
  3. What do we need to do to keep our teeth healthy like a dentist says?

What Do People Do?

Hello, friends! Today, we’re going to learn about some fun jobs that people do. Let’s find out what they are and what makes each one special!

The Teacher

What does a teacher do? A teacher helps kids learn new things every day. They teach us how to read, write, and even sing our ABCs! Let’s say our ABCs together: A-B-C-D-E!

The Doctor

What does a doctor do? A doctor helps us stay healthy and feel better when we’re sick. They listen to our heartbeat to make sure it’s strong and healthy. Can you pretend to listen to your heartbeat? Thump, thump, thump!

The Dentist

What does a dentist do? A dentist takes care of our teeth and helps us keep them clean. They remind us to brush, brush, brush our teeth every day! Let’s pretend to brush our teeth together. Swish, swish, swish!

The Carpenter

What does a carpenter do? A carpenter builds things like houses and furniture. They use tools like hammers to put everything together. Can you pretend to bang a hammer? Bang, bang, bang!

The Pilot

What does a pilot do? A pilot flies airplanes high up in the sky. They take people to different places all around the world. Let’s pretend to fly a big, big plane. Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Thanks for Learning!

Thank you for learning with us today! We hope you had fun discovering what different people do in their jobs. Remember, you can be anything you want to be when you grow up. See you next time for more fun learning!

  • Can you think of a job that you would like to do when you grow up? Why do you think that job would be fun or important?
  • Have you ever visited a doctor, dentist, or been on an airplane? What was your experience like, and what did you notice about the people working there?
  • Imagine you are a teacher for a day. What would you like to teach your friends, and how would you make learning fun for them?
  1. Role Play Adventure: Choose one of the jobs we learned about today and pretend to be that person for a day! You can dress up like a teacher, doctor, dentist, carpenter, or pilot. Think about what tools or items you might need for your job. For example, you might need a book for teaching or a toy stethoscope for being a doctor. Share with your family what you did in your role today!

  2. Job Matching Game: Create a set of cards with pictures of different jobs and another set with pictures of tools or items related to those jobs. Mix them up and try to match each job with the correct tool or item. For example, match a picture of a dentist with a toothbrush or a carpenter with a hammer. This will help you remember what each job does!

  3. Community Helpers Walk: Take a walk around your neighborhood or visit a local community center with a grown-up. Look for people doing different jobs. Can you spot a teacher, doctor, or carpenter? Talk about what you see and how these people help our community. Draw a picture of your favorite community helper and share why you like their job!
