Let’s learn some fun Halloween words together. Can you say them with me?
Eyeballs are round and help us see. Sometimes, they look a little spooky on Halloween!
A haunted house is a pretend scary house where ghosts might live. Boo!
Tombstones are big stones that mark where someone is buried. They can look a bit spooky in the dark!
A full moon is when the moon is big and round in the sky. It lights up the night!
A skull is the bone inside our head. On Halloween, people like to decorate with pretend skulls!
A witch hat is pointy and tall. Witches wear them when they fly on their brooms!
A coffin is a box where people are buried. On Halloween, they can be part of spooky stories!
Ghosts are pretend spirits that say “Boo!” They like to float around on Halloween night!
Candy is sweet and yummy! We get lots of candy when we go trick-or-treating!
A cauldron is a big pot that witches use to make magic potions. Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble!

Spooky Word Hunt: Go on a Halloween word hunt around your home or classroom. Look for objects that match the spooky words you learned. Can you find something round like an eyeball? Or maybe a hat that looks like a witch hat? Share what you find with your friends or family!
Create a Halloween Story: Use the spooky words to create your own Halloween story. Draw pictures to go along with your story. What happens when a ghost visits a haunted house? Does a witch make a potion in her cauldron? Share your story with the class!
Moon Watch: Look at the sky at night with a grown-up and try to find the full moon. Talk about how it looks and how it lights up the night. Can you see any spooky shapes in the shadows? Draw what you see and share it with your friends!
