Welcome to Our House Adventure!

Hello, little explorer! Today, we’re going on a fun adventure around the house. Let’s learn about all the cool things we can find in different rooms. Are you ready? Let’s go!

Things We See in the House

First, let’s look at the door. We use it to go in and out of the house. In Spanish, we call it La Puerta.

Next, we see the window. We can look outside through it. In Spanish, it’s called La Ventana.

Furniture Fun

Look at the table! We can eat and play on it. In Spanish, it’s La Mesa.

Here’s a chair to sit on. And over there is the couch, also known as a sofa, where we can relax.

Up We Go!

Let’s go up the stairs. In Spanish, we say Las escaleras. Up, up, up we go!

Cozy and Comfy

Look at the blanket! It’s so warm and cozy. In Spanish, it’s La Manta.

Here’s a pillow to rest our heads. We call it La Almohada in Spanish.

Light Up the Room

There’s a lamp. We can turn it on and off. In Spanish, it’s Ara. Let’s turn on the light with the light switch, or de Luz. Now it’s bright!

Bedtime and More

Here’s the bed, or La cama, where we sleep. And look, a closet to keep our clothes, called Mario in Spanish.

We also have a drawer, or El Cajón, to store things like a pen (La pluma), crayons, and paper.

Let’s Get Creative!

We can draw with a pencil, called El lápiz in Spanish. Let’s make some beautiful art!

Stay Cool

Feel the breeze from the fan. In Spanish, it’s El ventilador. We can turn it on and off to stay cool.

Wow, look at all the things we’ve learned about in the house! You’re doing great!

[Applause] Yay! You did it! Now you know so much about the house and some Spanish words too. Keep exploring and learning!

  1. What is your favorite room in your house, and what do you like to do there? Can you name some things you see in that room?
  2. Have you ever noticed how different things in your house help us every day, like the door or the lamp? Can you think of something in your house that you use a lot and why it’s important to you?
  3. Do you know any other words in a different language for things in your house? Maybe you can ask a family member or friend to teach you some new words!
  1. Room Scavenger Hunt: Let’s go on a scavenger hunt around your house! Can you find a door, window, table, chair, and lamp? Once you find each item, say its name in Spanish. For example, “La Puerta” for the door. Ask a grown-up to help you write down the Spanish words on a piece of paper. How many items can you find?

  2. Build a Mini House: Use building blocks or small boxes to create a mini version of your house. Include a door, windows, and furniture like a table and chair. As you build, say the names of each part in Spanish. Can you make a cozy room with a bed and a blanket? Share your creation with a friend or family member and teach them the Spanish words you learned.

  3. Spanish Word Match: Draw pictures of different items from the house, like a bed, fan, or stairs. On separate pieces of paper, write the Spanish words for each item. Mix them up and try to match the pictures with the correct Spanish words. Can you match them all? Ask someone to quiz you and see how many you remember!
