Do you know what a dog is? Dogs are furry animals that love to play and wag their tails. Can you say “dog”? Great job!

D is for Duck

Ducks are birds that like to swim in ponds and lakes. They have webbed feet and say “quack, quack!” Isn’t that funny? Ducks are amazing!

D is for Dinosaur

Dinosaurs lived a long, long time ago. They were big and some had long necks or sharp teeth. Can you say “dinosaur”? Wow, you’re doing awesome!

  • Have you ever seen a dog, duck, or dinosaur in a book, movie, or real life? What did you notice about them?
  • If you could have a pet dog or a pet duck, which one would you choose and why? What fun activities would you do together?
  1. Dog Detective Adventure: Go on a “Dog Detective” adventure in your neighborhood or at a park. Look for different types of dogs and observe their colors, sizes, and what they are doing. Can you find a dog that is playing? How about one that is resting? Draw a picture of your favorite dog that you saw and share what you learned about it with your friends or family.

  2. Duck Pond Exploration: Visit a local pond or lake to see if you can spot any ducks. Watch how they swim and listen to the sounds they make. Try to count how many ducks you see. If you can’t visit a pond, you can watch a video about ducks swimming. Afterward, make your own duck using paper or clay and show how it swims in water.

  3. Dinosaur Discovery: Create your own dinosaur using playdough or clay. Think about what kind of dinosaur you want to make. Will it have a long neck or sharp teeth? Once you’ve made your dinosaur, give it a name and tell a story about where it lived and what it liked to eat. Share your dinosaur story with your class or family.
