In today’s lesson on Learning Street with Bob, kids explored how to create words that end with ‘e’ and ‘d’. Bob introduced several examples, such as “bed,” “fed,” “led,” “red,” and “wed,” demonstrating how different letters can be added to ‘ed’ to form new words. The lesson concluded with a fun challenge for kids to count and share how many words start with each letter of the alphabet.
  1. What words can you make with ‘e’ and ‘d’?
  2. Can you think of something that is red?
  3. What do you do in a bed?

Welcome to Learning Street with Bob!

Hey kids! It’s me, Bob! Are you ready to have some fun with words? Let’s learn together on Learning Street with Bob!

Let’s Make Words with ‘e’ and ‘d’

Today, we’re going to play with letters and make words that end with ‘e’ and ‘d’. Are you excited? Let’s start!

Meet ‘ed’

When we put ‘e’ and ‘d’ together, they make the sound ‘ed’. Let’s see how we can use ‘ed’ to make new words!

  • Bed: Add ‘b’ to ‘ed’ and you get ‘bed’. At night, you sleep in a bed. Bed, bed, bed!
  • Fed: Add ‘f’ to ‘ed’ and you get ‘fed’. I fed my dog some bread. Fed, fed, fed!
  • Led: Add ‘l’ to ‘ed’ and you get ‘led’. I led the way in the dark. Led, led, led!
  • Red: Add ‘r’ to ‘ed’ and you get ‘red’. Fire engines are always red. Red, red, red!
  • Wed: Add ‘w’ to ‘ed’ and you get ‘wed’. Another word for married is wed. Wed, wed, wed!

Thank You, ‘e’ and ‘d’!

‘E’ and ‘D’ helped us make so many fun words today! Let’s give them a big thank you!

See You Next Time!

That’s all for today, kids. I hope you had a great time learning with me! We’ll be back soon to discover more new words. Until then, goodbye!

Fun Challenge!

  • Can you think of other words that end with ‘ed’? Try to come up with a list and share it with your friends or family. Which word is your favorite and why?
  • Have you ever led a group or been in charge of something? What was it like, and how did it make you feel?
  • What is your favorite color, and why do you like it? Can you find something around you that is red, like the word we learned today?
  1. Word Hunt: Go on a word hunt around your home or classroom! Look for objects that have names ending with ‘ed’. Can you find a bed, a red toy, or something else? Write down or draw the items you find and share them with your friends or family.

  2. Create Your Own ‘ed’ Story: Use the words you learned today to create a short story. For example, “Once upon a time, a red bed was fed some bread.” Draw pictures to go along with your story and share it with your class or family.

  3. Sound Detective: Be a sound detective and listen for the ‘ed’ sound in words around you. When you hear someone say a word that ends with ‘ed’, raise your hand or make a note. How many ‘ed’ words can you find in a day?
