Facing Fears

Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

[Applause] Got it! I think I got it. Hey, me too! I think I’m getting the hang of it. Isn’t horse riding awesome? Grab the reins.

What’s wrong, Leo? Why didn’t you get up on your horse like your friends?

I can’t actually ride Trusty yet because I need my star-pattern ultra-cool boots before I can ride Trusty.

I don’t recall you having any star-pattern ultra-cool boots.

Well, I do! I left them back at the house.

Okay, I guess I’ll go look for them, but when I come back, it’ll be your turn to ride old Trusty. Be right back.

[Applause]

What’s wrong, Leo? You and Trusty are jiggling like jellyfish.

We’re just super excited, you know? It’s a ride!

Hey, you know you can tell me anything, right? I’m here to listen.

It’s just that I’m scared of horses. I’m terrified of horses! Just being around them gives me the jitters.

Does your Uncle Krusty know about this?

Yeah, maybe you could ask him to help get rid of your horse jitters.

You guys don’t get it! If Uncle Krusty finds out I’m scared of horses, I’ll never be his favorite jackaroo again.

Let me explain.

How I wish I could be brave and carefree, riding with ease in the warm Australian breeze. I could be a great cowboy if I ever dared, but there’s one little thing: horses make me so scared. I’m just a jittery jackaroo, scared of horses. I don’t know what to do.

[Music]

It’s okay, Leo. Trying new things can feel scary and embarrassing, and it’s okay to feel scared. For me, learning more about something helps get rid of my fear, and it’s always okay to ask for help.

You think so?

Of course! I’m sure if you just tell Uncle Krusty the truth, he will understand.

What a good place! It’s perfect for all kinds of performances. The Opera House is one of the most famous buildings in the world.

But what about Sid and the Sydneys?

I gotta be honest, this place is so big I’ve gotten completely lost. I know Sid and the Sydneys are supposed to play, but I don’t know where.

Oh man, and we’ll never hear that song again!

Andy, my boy! There you are! Where’s your band? Your performance goes on in five minutes!

Seems that way. Guess I got a bit carried away giving my friends a tour.

Where are we playing again?

The Four Chord! We’ve got you set up outside.

Well, I guess this is where we part ways. Sorry I got us lost. Wish I could make it up to you somehow.

Well, we’d love to hear you play!

Bonza! Can we get these guys front row seats for my show tonight?

Yes, anything! But we have to go now. Come on, gang, let’s boogie!

But what about Sid and the Sydneys?

[Music]

This is amazing! A show under the stars at the Sydney Opera House! It’s cool and all, but I really wanted to see Sid and the Sydneys.

Look on the bright side, Andy! You made a new friend today, and you’ve got front row seats to see and perform!

Yeah, I guess you’re right. I’ll try to have fun.

Thank you!

I’d like to dedicate this first song to my froggy friend in the front row, Andy!

[Applause]

Andy, my boy!

[Music]

And he’s the best, more than the rest! When you meet him, you’ll be impressed. Helpful and agreeable, he’ll pass any test. My boy Andy’s the best!

I didn’t know Basil was in Sid and the Sydneys!

I think he is! Sid and those are the Sydneys!

[Music]

He’s bright, always good at sharing, and he’s first-rate! He’s beyond comparing, our pride and joy.

Andy, I hope you don’t mind that I kept it a secret.

That was an amazing surprise! I can’t believe you were Sid from Sid and the Sydneys!

I thought your name was Basil.

It is! Sid is my stage name. I only use it when I perform. Plus, Dazzle and the Sydneys would just…

[Music]

Thanks for being our newest fan! Here’s an autograph record for you to listen to, Andy, my boy! Anytime you want!

Wow, thanks!
