How Does the Letter E Look?

The letter E has two different shapes: big E and little e.

  • Big E: This is the uppercase E. It looks like a tall line with three short lines sticking out. To write it, draw a long line down, then add three lines across—one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom.
  • Little e: This is the lowercase e. It looks like a small loop with a line. To write it, draw a little line across, then make a loop that opens to the left.

Even though big E and little e look different, they make the same sound!
