Letter Hunt: Go on a letter hunt around your home or classroom! Look for items that start with the letters “I” and “J”. Can you find something that starts with “I” like an ice cube or an ink pen? How about something that starts with “J” like a jar or a juice box? Draw or take a picture of the items you find and share them with your friends or family.
Sound Match Game: Create a set of cards with pictures of items that start with “I” and “J”. Mix them up and place them face down. Take turns flipping two cards at a time, trying to find a match. When you find a match, say the word out loud and identify the starting letter. This will help you remember the sounds that “I” and “J” make!
Story Time Adventure: Make up a short story using as many “I” and “J” words as you can. For example, “Once upon a time, an iguana and a jet went to an island to eat ice cream and jam.” Draw pictures to go along with your story and share it with your class or family. This will help you practice using the words in sentences and spark your imagination!
