Today, we’re going to talk about some amazing things: sound and light! These are things we see and hear every day, and they’re super interesting. Let’s learn more about them together!
Sound is a special kind of energy. It happens when things move back and forth really fast. This movement is called vibration. When you listen to music on a stereo, the speakers vibrate. These vibrations move through the air and reach our ears, and that’s how we hear sound! Isn’t it cool that vibrations let us enjoy our favorite songs?
Light is made of tiny waves that travel from a light source, like the sun or a lamp. When light hits an object, it bounces off and comes to our eyes, helping us see. If something, like a tree, blocks the light, it makes a shadow. Shadows are fun to play with, especially when the sun is shining bright!
Sound and light are all around us, and they help us in many ways. For example, when your phone rings, it uses both sound and light to let you know someone is calling. Isn’t it amazing how sound and light work together to help us communicate?
There’s so much more to learn about sound and light. Science is full of wonders, and every day is a chance to discover something new. Keep exploring, and you’ll find out just how fascinating the world can be!
That’s all for today, friends! Keep having fun and learning new things. Goodbye for now!
Sound Detective: Go on a sound hunt around your home or classroom. Close your eyes and listen carefully. Can you identify different sounds? Try to guess what is making each sound. Discuss with your friends or family how these sounds are created and what might be vibrating to produce them.
Shadow Play: On a sunny day, go outside and make shadow shapes with your hands or body. Notice how the shadows change when you move closer or farther from the ground. Try to create different animals or objects with your shadows. Talk about how the position of the sun affects the size and shape of your shadow.
Light and Color Experiment: Use a flashlight and a few colored transparent objects, like colored plastic or cellophane. Shine the flashlight through the colored objects and observe how the light changes color. Discuss why you think the light changes and how this relates to the concept of light waves.

Welcome to Kids Academy!
Hey, Bali! Hey, Andrew! Hey, everybody!
Hi, boys and girls! We’ve looked at a lot of different topics recently, like light, sound, and shadows. I think it’s time we take a step back and revisit some of those things we’ve learned.
Sound is a type of energy that comes when things vibrate. When we turn on a stereo, the speakers vibrate the air around them. Those vibrations travel through the air to our eardrums, where we hear them as sound. Sound and vibration are what let us enjoy our favorite songs. Anything that vibrates makes sound.
Light is made up of waves, and these waves travel from light sources. We also discussed how light works. Light goes from a light source, like this lamp, bounces off of objects, and then reaches our eyes, allowing us to see things. When an object, like a tree, blocks light from the light source, it creates a shadow.
Sound and light are around us all the time! What’s really cool is how we use sound and light together to send messages and communicate with each other.
Let’s check it out! People use sound and light together to send all kinds of messages. For example, cell phones use sound and light to let you know someone’s calling.
There’s so much to learn about light and sound. Science really is fascinating!
Well, see you later! This is Bali signing off.
