In today’s lesson at the Lighthouse Lab, we explored the concept of weather, discussing how it varies from day to day and affects our activities and clothing choices. We learned to identify different weather conditions, such as sunny, rainy, windy, and snowy, and participated in an interactive game to reinforce our understanding. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to see you again soon!
  1. What do you see in the sky today? Is it sunny, cloudy, or something else?
  2. How does the weather make you feel? Do you like sunny days or rainy days more?
  3. What do you wear when it’s cold or when it’s hot outside?

Welcome to the Lighthouse Lab!

Hello, friend! Today, we’re going to learn about something fun called weather. Weather is what we see and feel when we go outside. It can be different every day!

What is Weather?

Weather tells us if it’s hot, warm, or cold outside. Sometimes the sun is shining bright, and other times the sky is full of clouds. In some places, it rains a lot, and in others, it might even snow. When the wind blows fast, we say it’s windy.

How Weather Changes

The weather can change from one day to the next. Today, it’s sunny and warm at the Lighthouse Lab, but yesterday it was cold and cloudy. Weather helps us decide what to do and what to wear. On sunny days, we might wear shorts and t-shirts and play outside. On rainy days, we might wear raincoats and stay indoors.

Let’s Play the Weather Game!

Are you ready to play a fun game about weather? I’ll show you some videos, and you have to guess the weather. I’ll give you five seconds for each one. Let’s start!

Game Time!

1. Look at the sky. Is it cloudy? Yes, it is!

2. See the trees moving. It’s windy!

3. This place looks hot. Can you feel it?

4. Look, it’s snowing here!

5. And here, it’s raining. Do you see the raindrops?

6. This place looks cold. Brrr!

Thanks for Visiting the Lighthouse Lab!

Thank you for learning about weather with us at the Lighthouse Lab! Now, I’m going to enjoy a swim because the weather is nice and warm. See you next time!

  • What is your favorite type of weather and why? Can you think of a fun activity you like to do in that weather?
  • Have you ever noticed how the weather changes where you live? What do you wear on a sunny day compared to a rainy day?
  • Imagine you are a weather reporter for a day. How would you describe today’s weather to your friends? What would you tell them to wear or do?
  1. Weather Observation Walk: Take a short walk outside with an adult and observe the weather. Is it sunny, cloudy, rainy, or windy? Draw a picture of what you see and feel. Share your drawing with the class and describe the weather using words like “warm,” “cold,” “bright,” or “breezy.”

  2. Weather Dress-Up: Pretend you are a weather reporter! Choose a type of weather and dress up in clothes that match it. For example, wear a raincoat and boots for rainy weather or sunglasses and a hat for sunny weather. Explain to your friends why you chose those clothes and what activities you might do in that weather.

  3. Weather Diary: Create a simple weather diary for a week. Each day, draw a picture of the weather and write one sentence about how it feels. At the end of the week, look at your diary and see how the weather changed. Discuss with your class which day was your favorite and why.

Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the YouTube transcript:

Welcome back to the Lighthouse Lab! Today, we’re going to be learning about weather. Weather is what the air and sky are like outside. It can be hot, warm, or cold. It can also be sunny or cloudy. In some places, it rains a lot, and in others, it even snows. When the air is moving fast, we say it is windy outside.

The weather can change from day to day. Today at the Lighthouse Lab, it’s sunny and the air is calm and warm, but yesterday it was cold and cloudy. The weather affects the activities we do and the clothes we wear. On hot sunny days, people tend to spend a lot of time outside and wear lighter clothes like shorts, skirts, and t-shirts. On colder rainy days, people usually stay indoors and wear heavier clothes like raincoats, pants, and jackets.

Are you ready to play the weather game? Choose the word that best describes the weather in these videos. I’ll only give you five seconds. Let’s go!

Good one, it’s cloudy! Look at the trees moving—it’s windy! This place looks hot. It’s snowing here. And here, it’s raining. This place looks cold.

Thanks again for learning in the Lighthouse Lab! I’m going to head out for a swim now while the weather is nice and warm.
