Story Time Fun!

Hey there, friends! Are you ready for some fun stories? Let’s pretend and have a great time together!

Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Little Red Riding Hood. She wore a bright red outfit and was going to visit her Grandma, who was not feeling well. Her mom gave her some yummy treats to take to Grandma.

As Little Red walked through the woods, she met a big, bad wolf. The wolf asked, “Where are you going?” Little Red remembered not to talk to strangers but told him she was visiting her Grandma.

The sneaky wolf ran ahead to Grandma’s house and locked her away. He dressed up like Grandma and waited for Little Red. When Little Red arrived, she noticed something was strange.

“Grandma, what big ears you have!” she said. “The better to hear you with, my dear!” replied the wolf. “And Grandma, what big teeth you have!” “The better to eat you!” said the wolf.

But Little Red was brave and called for help. A kind huntsman came and saved Grandma. The wolf learned his lesson and ran away!

The Three Little Bears

Once upon a time, there were three little bears who wanted to build houses. The first little bear built a house of straw, but a big, bad wolf blew it down!

The second little bear built a house of twigs, but the wolf blew that one down too!

The third little bear was very smart and built a house of strong bricks. The wolf tried and tried, but he couldn’t blow it down. The wolf ran away, and the bears were safe and happy!

The Lion and the Mouse

One day, a mighty lion was sleeping when a tiny mouse accidentally woke him up. The mouse said, “Please let me go, and I promise to help you someday!” The lion laughed but let the mouse go.

Later, the lion got caught in a net and roared for help. The little mouse heard him and came to the rescue! The mouse nibbled the net and set the lion free. They became best friends forever!

Incy Wincy Spider

Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout. Down came the rain and washed the spider out. Out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the spout again.

Incy Wincy Spider loved to climb! He climbed up the barnyard door and the maple tree, even when the rain washed him away. But the sun always came out, and Incy Wincy Spider climbed again and again!

Isn’t Incy Wincy Spider cute? He never gives up, and that’s what makes him special!

Thanks for joining story time! Remember, being kind and helping friends is always the best way to be!

  • What do you think Little Red Riding Hood could have done differently when she met the wolf? Have you ever had to be careful around someone you didn’t know?
  • If you were one of the three little bears, what kind of house would you build to keep safe from the wolf? Why do you think that would be a good choice?
  • In the story of the lion and the mouse, the mouse helped the lion even though he was small. Can you think of a time when you helped someone or someone helped you, even if it seemed like a small thing?
  1. Role-Playing Adventure: Let’s pretend to be characters from the stories! Choose your favorite story and act it out with your friends or family. You can be Little Red Riding Hood, the wolf, the bears, or even Incy Wincy Spider. Think about how each character feels and what they might say. This will help you understand the story better and have lots of fun!

  2. Build a House Challenge: Just like the three little bears, let’s try building our own houses! Use different materials like straws, sticks, and blocks. Which house is the strongest? Can you blow it down like the wolf? This activity will help you learn about building and see how different materials work.

  3. Kindness Jar: Remember how the mouse helped the lion? Let’s make a kindness jar! Every time you do something kind, write it on a piece of paper and put it in the jar. At the end of the week, read all the kind things you’ve done. This will remind you how important it is to be kind and help others, just like in the stories.

Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

[Music] It’s story time, everyone! How about Little Red Riding Hood? Hi! I’m going to pretend that I’m Little Red, and I’ll be the Big Bad Wolf. Oh, I’m not sure if Wookie likes that idea. Everyone ready?

Once upon a time, there was a girl all dressed in red who went to her Grandma’s sickbed. She’s not feeling well, so I’ll cut through the woods and visit Grandma for a short little spell. Now remember, don’t talk to any strangers! I promise! Mama gave Red some special treats—Grandma’s very favorite cheese.

But in the woods, a wolf stopped Red. “Well, hello, my dear! Where are you going?” he said. “Um, you’re a stranger, right? I’m not really supposed to talk to you, but I’m off to Grandma’s. She’s sick in bed, and I brought some cheese and fresh-baked bread.”

Then Red took off, but the wolf was smart. He knew the way to Grandma’s heart. “I’m smarter than the average wolf!” The wolf sneaked into Grandma’s place. “I’ll hide you so there’s not a trace!” He locked her in and got into bed with Grandma’s nightcap on his head.

“Help me!” cried Grandma. “Why, come in, dear!” said Red as she walked right in. “Oh, I’ve been wondering how you’ve been!” “I’m okay,” but she sounded weird. “Grandma, since when do you have a baby?”

[Music] “What big ears you have!” “The better to hear you with, my dear!” “And Grandma, what big teeth you have!” “The better to eat you!” “Oh no! Say that to my face!” “The better to eat!”

[Music] “You’re a big, bad, hairy wolf, and you better stop being a bully!”

Well, the Huntsman let poor Grandma out, and Little Red just blurted out what she learned. “Wow, that big bad wolf sure learned his lesson! He’s gone, and I sent him away. See what happens to big bad boys indeed!”

Now, what’s the moral of the story? You never know if you have fresh-baked bread!

Once upon a time—no wait, okay, do you want to tell the story? No, I just like saying that!

[Music] He built that house, and then he took a nap, but a mean old wolf woke him up. “I’m a big bad wolf, and I see you in there! Open the door, Little Bear! Beware!”

Oh, he pounded the door. “Let me come in!” “Not by the hairs on my chinny-chin-chin!” And he did, and he laughed with the worst laugh there ever was.

[Music] “Oh, maybe I should have used twigs instead of straw!”

Out to play went two little bears. “My house will be made of twigs!” said the second little bear. And just like that, he built that house and then took a nap.

But once again, that mean old wolf woke him up. “I’m a big bad wolf, and I see you there! Open the door, Little Bear! Beware!”

Oh, he pounded the door. “Oh, I guess we’re going to have to build something that that mean wolf can’t blow down!” Just one little bear had to think quick and make her house out of sturdy bricks, said the third little bear. And just like that, she built that house and then took a nap.

And can you believe it? That nasty old wolf woke her up! “I’m a big bad wolf, and I see you in there! Open the door, Little Bear! Beware!”

No! Oh, he pounded the door. “Not by the hairs of my chinny-chin-chin!”

So did he blow the house in? Not by the hairs of his chinny-chin-chin! The bricks were too strong. So what happened to the mean old wolf? He was never to be seen again. Wolves are like that!

Yeah, they are!

[Music] Okay, whose turn is it to tell a story? It’s my turn, and I’m going to tell the story of The Lion and the Mouse.

Don’t show me the mouse! Not this time, because you’re all going to be the little mice. A mighty, mighty lion lay sleeping in his lair. Three little mice came creeping by and stared. One accidentally brushed up against the lion’s paw. “Oh, I’m sorry, Mr. Lion! There ought to be a law! Oh, I promise to repay you if you let me go! Please! I’ll be your best friend!”

“Well, I guess I could say yes, but only just this time. Now scatter with your friends, and I’ll pay you no more!”

[Music] “Mr. Lion, I’m forever in your debt! I guess not every lion is really such a threat!”

As well, so the great big lion lets a little mouse go. “Ew, that was scary, but that wasn’t the end of the story!”

“Oh, do tell!”

[Music] He roared so very loud that the three mice heard his cry. “Is that your friend, the lion? He’s in trouble!” “Oh my! Hold on to your horses! I mean lions, we’re coming to the rescue!”

Captured in the nets, the lion paced and cried. Unafraid, the little mice clamored to his side. They nibbled a big hole and became the lion’s guide. “Whoa! What do you know? These little mice have now become my pride!”

Friends to the end! Nice, mousy friends are just like family. Just like friends, I always keep my promises, and that you can depend on. The lesson here is friendship!

“Mr. Lion, friendship is a gift that always sets you free!”

[Music] No, silly! It’s about friendship and kindness!

“It sure is! It’s about always being there for your friends!”

[Music] Look, it’s a spider!

“Isn’t he cute?”

“Not cute! It’s scary!”

Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout. Down came the rain and washed the spider out. Out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and the Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the spout again.

“I don’t know, he kind of gives me the creeps!”

“What? But he’s just climbing! He likes to climb!”

Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the barnyard door. Down came the rain, and he fell on the floor. Oops! Out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the door again.

“Well, maybe he’s not that scary!”

“Oh, come on! Say it! He’s cute!”

“He’s cute! He’s cute!”

The Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the maple tree. Down came the rain and washed him away. Out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and the Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the tree again.

“I think you kind of like him, don’t you?”

“Well, I guess you could say he’s kind of growing on me!”

The Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout. Down came the rain and washed the spider out. Out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and the Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the spout again.

“You’re cute, Mr. Spidey! Oh yes, Spidey, will you be my new best friend?”
