Hello, friends! We are Brian and Craig, and we are so happy to have you here for Story Time! Today, we have a super fun book to read called “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault, with pictures by Lois Ehlert. Let’s jump right in!
Once upon a time, the letter A said, “I’ll meet you at the top of the coconut tree!” Soon, the letter H came climbing up the tree too. Oh wow, so many letters are trying to climb up the coconut tree! Can you guess how many letters there are? There are 26 letters in the alphabet!
Oh no! The coconut tree is getting wobbly because all the letters are climbing up. Suddenly, the tree bends, and all the letters start to fall down! But don’t worry, the mamas, papas, uncles, and aunts are there to help the little letters.
Look, here come the letters Q, R, S, and T! Everyone is trying to help each other. But why were they climbing the coconut tree in the first place? It’s a mystery! Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!
The letter A is ready to try again. A says, “Dare double dare, you can’t catch me! I’ll beat you to the top of the coconut tree!” And the fun starts all over again!
We had so much fun reading “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” with you! A big thank you to the Culture Love family for sending us this wonderful book. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Now, let’s answer some fun questions! What’s your favorite dinosaur? Brian loves the velociraptor! Do you have a favorite movie? Craig’s favorite is “Back to the Future.” And what about ice cream? Brian loves cookies and cream!
Thank you all for joining us for Story Time! We had a blast reading with you. Remember to keep reading and have lots of fun. We can’t wait to see you next time! Bye-bye!
Alphabet Hunt: Go on an alphabet hunt around your house or classroom! Look for objects that start with each letter of the alphabet. For example, find an apple for the letter A, a book for the letter B, and so on. Can you find something for every letter? Share your findings with your friends or family!
Letter Climb Game: Create your own coconut tree using construction paper or cardboard. Cut out letters from paper and see how many you can stack on your tree before they fall. Just like in the story, try to balance as many letters as possible. How many can you stack before your tree gets wobbly?
Story Time Drawing: Draw a picture of your favorite part of the story “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.” Was it when the letters climbed the tree, or when they all fell down? Use lots of colors and share your drawing with your classmates. What do they like about your picture?
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:
