Hello, little friend! Today, we are going to have a fun time learning some special words. These words are called “sight words.” They are words we see and use a lot when we read and talk. Let’s learn them together!
Here are the special words we will learn today:
We use “have” when we talk about things we own or do. For example, “I have a toy” or “We have fun!”
“And” is a word that helps us connect things. Like, “I like apples and bananas.” It helps us put things together!
“A” is a tiny word we use before a noun. Like, “a cat” or “a ball.” It helps us talk about one thing.
“Said” is a word we use when we tell what someone spoke. For example, “Mom said, ‘Time to play!’”
“Play” is a fun word! We use it when we talk about having fun. Like, “Let’s play with toys!”
“That” is a word we use to point to something. Like, “Look at that bird!” It helps us show what we are talking about.
Now that we know our special words, let’s practice using them. You can try making sentences with each word. Maybe you can say, “I have a ball,” or “Let’s play and have fun!”

Have a great time learning and playing with your new sight words!
Word Hunt Adventure: Go on a word hunt around your home or classroom! Look for items that match the sight words you learned. Can you find a toy to say “I have a toy”? Or maybe point to something and say “Look at that chair”? Share your findings with a friend or family member.
Sight Word Story Time: Create a short story using the sight words. You can draw pictures to go along with your story. For example, draw a picture of a cat and a ball, and write “A cat and a ball play together.” Share your story with your classmates or family.
Play and Say Game: Gather a few toys and play with a friend. As you play, try to use the sight words in your conversation. For example, you might say, “Let’s play with a car and a doll,” or “I have a puzzle.” See how many times you can use the sight words while having fun!
