Let’s Read a Christmas Story!

Merry Christmas, Baby Shark!

It’s Christmas Eve, and it’s time for bed. Mommy Shark sings a sweet song to Baby Shark. “Close your eyes. When you wake up, Christmas will be here. Good night, Baby Shark,” she says.

“But I can’t sleep,” says Baby Shark.

Daddy Shark gently rocks Baby Shark’s cradle. “Santa Claus won’t come until you’re fast asleep. Sleep tight, Baby Shark,” he says.

“But I still can’t sleep,” says Baby Shark.

Baby Shark’s Dream Adventure

Baby Shark closes his eyes and suddenly finds himself in a magical winter wonderland. “What a beautiful place!” he says. “Look up there! Rudolph and his friends are pulling Santa’s sleigh!”

Excited, Baby Shark follows Santa. “Santa, wait for me!” he calls.

Baby Shark is happy to see Santa’s elves. “What is everyone doing?” he asks.

“We are very busy,” says one elf. “We have to wrap all the presents and deliver them tonight,” says another elf.

Grandpa and Grandma Shark Help

Grandpa Shark sings a lullaby to help Baby Shark sleep. “Hush-a-bye, Baby Shark,” he sings.

Grandma Shark reads a story to Baby Shark. “I will read to you,” she says. Baby Shark’s eyes close quickly.

Helping Santa Claus

In his dream, Baby Shark is back in the winter wonderland. He sees Santa again and says, “I want to help too, Santa Claus!”

“Ho ho ho! Will you help me deliver Christmas presents to our ocean friends?” asks Santa.

“One, two, yo ho!” Baby Shark shouts. “Three, four, here we go!” Santa’s elves shout.

Everyone works hard together to load the gifts onto Santa’s sleigh.

Delivering Christmas Joy

Now it’s time to deliver the gifts. “Jingle jingle!” Santa Claus and Baby Shark ride their sleighs across the night sky.

“Let’s deliver these gifts before morning comes,” Santa laughs.

Baby Shark sings a happy Christmas song: “Baby Shark doo doo…”

“All done! Thanks for your help, Baby Shark,” Santa says. “It was a holly jolly Christmas Eve.”

Christmas Morning Surprise

Daddy Shark gently wakes Baby Shark. “It’s Christmas morning, Baby Shark! Come look!”

“Merry Christmas! Santa must have visited Baby Shark last night too. Merry Christmas, everyone!”

Bye!

  • What do you think Baby Shark was feeling when he couldn’t sleep on Christmas Eve? Have you ever felt too excited to sleep? What did you do?
  • If you could visit a magical winter wonderland like Baby Shark, what would you like to see or do there? Who would you want to meet?
  • Baby Shark helped Santa deliver presents in his dream. Can you think of a time when you helped someone? How did it make you feel?
  1. Christmas Storytime Role Play: Gather some props like a Santa hat, a toy sleigh, and some wrapped boxes. Encourage the children to act out the story of Baby Shark helping Santa. Let them take turns being Baby Shark, Santa, and the elves. Ask them questions like, “What would you do if you were Baby Shark and couldn’t sleep?” or “How would you help Santa deliver presents?” This activity helps them understand the story through imaginative play.

  2. Winter Wonderland Art Project: Provide paper, crayons, and stickers to create a winter wonderland scene. Ask the children to draw what Baby Shark might have seen in his dream. Encourage them to include elements like Santa’s sleigh, elves, and wrapped presents. As they create, discuss questions like, “What do you think Baby Shark felt when he saw Santa?” or “What would you dream about if you were Baby Shark?” This helps them visualize and express the story creatively.

  3. Christmas Gift Hunt: Hide small wrapped gifts or pictures of gifts around the classroom. Tell the children they are Santa’s helpers, just like Baby Shark, and they need to find and deliver these gifts. After the hunt, ask them, “How did it feel to help deliver gifts?” or “Why is it important to help others during Christmas?” This activity encourages teamwork and empathy.
