Hello, friends! Today, we’re going to have a fun story time together. Are you ready? Let’s get started!
Today, we’re reading a book called “Merry Christmas, Mouse!” It’s written by Laura Numeroff and has beautiful pictures by Felicia Bond. Let’s see what Mouse is up to for Christmas!
Mouse is getting ready for Christmas by decorating the tree. First, he puts one shiny star on top. Wow, it looks so bright!
Next, Mouse adds two angels. They look so pretty on the tree! Then, he adds three snowflakes. They sparkle like real snow!
Mouse doesn’t stop there! He adds four reindeer. They look like they’re ready to fly! Then, he puts up five snowmen. They look so happy!
Mouse is having so much fun! He adds six toy soldiers. They stand tall and proud. Then, he adds seven robots. That’s one robot for each day of the week!
Mouse adds eight little elves. They look like they’re ready to help Santa! Then, he adds nine mittens. They look so cozy and warm!
Finally, Mouse adds ten rockets! Wow, they look like they’re ready to zoom into space!
Mouse has decorated the tree with so many wonderful things. It looks amazing! Merry Christmas, Mouse!
Thank you for joining us for story time. We hope you had fun! See you next time!
Count and Decorate: Gather some paper, crayons, and stickers. Draw a big Christmas tree on the paper. Now, let’s decorate it just like Mouse! Can you add one star at the top? How about two angels? Keep going until you have added all the decorations Mouse used. Count them as you go and see how many you can remember!
Find and Match: Go on a scavenger hunt around your house or classroom. Can you find objects that match the decorations Mouse used? Maybe you can find a shiny star, a snowflake, or even a mitten! Bring them back and share with your friends what you found. How many different items did you find?
Story Time Reflection: Think about the story we read. Why do you think Mouse chose those decorations? What would you add to the tree if you were Mouse? Draw a picture of your own decorated tree and share it with the class. What special decorations did you choose and why?
