Hey there! A big congratulations to you from Preston, Lizzy, Stampy, and Stacy! You’ve just finished the Minecraft Hour of Code, and that’s super awesome!
During this fun coding adventure, you learned some cool things like loops, functions, and what a software agent does. These are important coding skills that help you create amazing things in Minecraft.
Now that you’ve learned the basics, it’s time for the free play level! Here, you get to be the developer. You can use the time you have left to write your own functions to explore, mine, and build in Minecraft. Isn’t that exciting?
Once you finish your code, you can take it into your Minecraft world using Minecraft: Education Edition. Just click “Finish” and follow the instructions to get the link. This will let you continue coding with your agent in your own world. Have fun and keep up the great work!
Stacy is here to show you something cool! This is the agent, and it can do amazing things. For example, Stacy told the agent to build a staircase out of terracotta blocks, and it did just that! You can tell the agent to do anything you want, and it will help you out.
Stampy was curious about how Stacy did it, and guess what? It was easy! Stacy used code to tell the agent what to do. Now you can do it too!
Remember, coding is like giving instructions to your computer or agent. With practice, you can create anything you imagine in Minecraft. Keep exploring and have a blast coding!
Build a Real-Life Staircase: Just like Stacy’s agent built a staircase in Minecraft, you can create a staircase using blocks or boxes at home. Try using different materials like LEGO bricks, cardboard boxes, or even books. As you build, think about the steps you would give to a real-life agent to create your staircase. How many blocks do you need? What pattern will you follow?
Code Your Morning Routine: Imagine you are a software agent helping someone with their morning routine. Write down a list of instructions for your morning activities, like brushing your teeth, having breakfast, and getting dressed. Try to use loops for repeated actions, like brushing each tooth. Share your routine with a friend and see if they can follow your “code” to complete the tasks!
Agent Adventure Story: Create a short story about an adventure your agent goes on in Minecraft. What tasks does it complete? Does it build something special or solve a problem? Draw pictures to go along with your story, and think about the different functions you would use to help your agent succeed. Share your story with your class or family!
**Sanitized Transcript:**
**Preston:** Congratulations!
**Lizzy:** Congratulations!
**Stampy:** Congratulations, you did it!
**Stacy:** Congratulations, everyone, you totally rocked that!
Now that you’ve completed the Hour of Code, you can start coding in Minecraft. You’ve learned about loops, functions, and what a software agent does. Now, it’s time for the free play level, where you are the developer. Use any remaining time to write your own functions to explore, mine, and build. You can take the code that you write in this level into your Minecraft world on Minecraft: Education Edition. Just click “Finish” and follow the instructions for getting the link to use in your world to continue coding with the agent. Have fun, and great job!
**Stacy:** And I’m back! Okay, everyone, this is the agent! Let me show you what it can do. Look, look! It’s doing it! I told it to build a staircase out of these terracotta blocks, and now we can just use this to get out of here. And it’s not just staircases. I can tell the agent to do anything I want, and it will do it for me.
**Stampy:** How did you do that?
**Stacy:** It was easy, actually. I just used code!
