  • What was your favorite animal that Monkey and the narrator visited? Why do you like that animal?
  • Can you think of a time when you went on an adventure or saw interesting animals? What did you see, and how did it make you feel?
  • If you could go on an adventure with Monkey, where would you like to go, and what animals would you want to see?
  • Animal Counting Adventure: Go on a mini-adventure around your home or garden. Look for different animals or animal toys and count them just like in the story. Can you find more than nine animals? Try to count them with a friend or family member. How many different kinds of animals can you find?
  • Kangaroo Jumping Game: Pretend to be kangaroos and have a jumping contest! See how many jumps you can do in a row. Count each jump out loud. Can you jump as many times as there were kangaroos in the story? Try jumping with a friend and see who can jump the most!
  • Draw and Count: Draw a picture of your favorite scene from the story. Include the animals you saw, like penguins, kangaroos, or elephants. Count how many animals you drew and write the number next to each group. Share your drawing with someone and tell them about your favorite part of the story.
