In this lesson, you will learn how to identify different vehicles like cars and trains, understand the importance of teamwork when helping others, and recognize the role of mechanics and rescue teams in keeping everyone safe. You will also discover how to express your feelings of gratitude and share with friends, just like the cars did with their lollipops. By the end of this lesson, you’ll be able to talk about the adventures of the cars and trains and what they learned about being careful and helping each other!

Let's Think

  1. What did the cars do when they were bored?
  2. Who helped the cars when they got hurt?
  3. How did the rescue teams help everyone during the earthquake?

Let’s Have Fun with Cars and Trains!

One day, some cars were feeling a little bored. They decided to have a race! Everyone got ready and counted down, “Three, two, one, go!” But oh no, some of the cars got hurt during the race and needed help.

The Helpful Mechanics

The cars went to see the friendly mechanics. The mechanics said, “No problem! Follow me, and I’ll help you.” The cars were very dusty, and one car had a broken headlight. The mechanic fixed it and made everything shiny again!

Magic Toolbox to the Rescue

Another car had a flat tire. The mechanic used a magic toolbox to fix it. “It’s all fixed!” said the mechanic. The cars were so happy and thanked the mechanic for the help. The mechanic reminded them to be more careful next time.

Oh No, Lollipops!

One car had some yummy lollipops to share with a friend named Timmy. But oh no, someone stole the lollipops! The car chased after the thief, but the thief was too fast.

Monster Car Rescue Team

The car got stuck in the mud and needed help. The Monster Car Rescue Team came to the rescue! There was a monster truck, a monster fire truck, and a monster tow truck. They all worked together to help the car get out of the mud.

What’s Inside the Egg?

The cars found a big egg and wondered what was inside. “I think there’s rainbow candy inside!” said one car. “I think there are donuts inside!” said another. They opened it together to find out.

The Brave Steam Train

Meanwhile, a brave steam train was on a journey. It had to deliver cargo on time. The train wasn’t scared of strong winds, thunder, or rain. It kept going and delivered the cargo safely. “You did great, steam train!” everyone cheered.

Earthquake Adventure

Suddenly, there was an earthquake! Everything started shaking, and the house began to fall. But don’t worry, the Super Rescue Team was on the way! They helped everyone stay safe and lifted heavy things away.

All Safe and Sound

The Super Rescue Team saved the day, and everyone was okay. Even the little fish was safe! Everyone was so grateful to the rescue team for their help.

And that’s how the cars, trains, and rescue teams had an exciting and helpful day together!

Discussion Questions

  1. What do you think it would be like to be a mechanic and help fix cars? Have you ever helped someone fix something before?
  2. If you found a big egg like the cars did, what would you hope to find inside? Why do you think it would be exciting?
  3. Have you ever been in a situation where you needed help, like the cars and the train? Who helped you, and how did it make you feel?

Lesson Activities

  1. Build Your Own Rescue Vehicle: Gather some building blocks or recycled materials like cardboard boxes, bottle caps, and paper rolls. Encourage the children to create their own rescue vehicle, like a monster truck or a steam train. Ask them to think about what special tools or features their vehicle might have to help others. Once built, have them explain how their vehicle would help in a rescue mission.

  2. Role-Playing Adventure: Set up a small obstacle course or play area where children can act out a rescue mission. Assign roles such as mechanics, rescue team members, or the cars and trains needing help. Encourage them to use their imagination to solve problems, like fixing a flat tire or helping a car stuck in the mud. Discuss how teamwork and helping each other can solve problems.

  3. Observation Walk: Take the children on a short walk around the school or playground. Ask them to look for things that might need fixing or helping, like a broken swing or a plant that needs water. Discuss how they could be like the mechanics or the rescue team in the story and think of ways to help or improve what they see.
